Hi everybody!
I need help from those who are fans of the series and have a good
memory :-)
I'm searching for an episode of "the simpsons" that contains an example
of malapropism, can anyone help me?
A malapropism is an incorrect usage of a word by sostituiting a
similar-sounding word (from wikipedia); something like this:
i say "Rather than take for granite that Ace talks straight"
instead of "Rather than take for *granted* that Ace talks straight"
or "I've gotta consecrate myself on this newspaper"
instead of "I've gotta *concentrate* myself on this newspaper"
Thank you very much foryour help!
Thomas

It seems like Homer usually can't make it through an episode without one or
two.
Is this a fair example?
BURNS: ...use an open-face club. The sand wedge!
HOMER: Mmm... open-faced club sandwich.

---- Mmm... sacrilicious.

I also think so. But, you know... when you need something, you usually
can't find it! :-)

I conquer that there are many malapropisms in OFF. In fact conquer has
been used more than once. Now I am off to Washington, DC, to visit the
Aaron Space Museum!

That's not really a malapropism, is it? I think of it more like
(mis)hearing Jimi Hendrix sing "'scuse me while I kiss this guy".
For examples of malapropisms:

I'm sure you meant to say something like "I am searching for malapropisms
that are found in episodes of The Simpsons"
Anyway, my favorite: "is the leaning tower of pizza just a statue?"
Also there is "rack and peanut steering". "I love you, pepsi"
BTW I was previously unfamiliar with the word "malapropism", thank you for
adding it to my vocabulary.
