Upcoming Episodes plus STUFF for "Regarding Margie" [message #265774] Mo, 08 Mai 2006 05:57
Don Del Grande
5/14 - DOUBLE FEATURE
7:00 - My Fair Laddy (HABF05)
As a science fair project, Lisa tries to turn Groundskeeper Willie
into a refined gentlemen, complete with songs that sound an awful lot
like the ones in "My Fair Lady"
8:00 - The Monkey Suit (HABF14)
Ned Flanders gets Mayor Quimby to appoint Reverend Lovejoy as
Springfield's "morality czar", whose job it is to promote creationism
and prevent the teaching of evolution, resulting in Lisa's arrest when
she tries to spread the word of Charles Darwin - and a comment made
way back in the show's first season may end up saving her
(if you're wondering about the title, it's a reference to the Scopes
"monkey trial")

5/21 - GASP! TRIPLE FEATURE!
7:00 - The Seemingly Never-Ending Story (HABF06)
When Homer gets stuck in a hole in a cave and Marge and Bart go off
in search of help, Lisa keeps Homer company by telling him a story
that includes Mr. Burns telling Lisa a story of the time Moe told
Burns a story
7:30 - Homer Simpson, This is Your Wife (HABF08)
Ricky Gervais (of the BBC version of "The Office") wrote, and guest
voices in, this episode, where Homer gets involved in a new TV show
(in order to win a widescreen TV like the one Lenny has) in which he
has to trade wives with another man
8:00 - Marge and Homer Turn a Couple Play (HABF16)
Homer and Marge are asked to help patch up the marriage of one of the
Isotopes's star players after he sees them kiss on the Jumbotron
during a game, but when Homer is caught giving the player's wife a
neck massage, it's a doubleheader in the breakup department
* Note that the title originally appeared as "Homer and Marge...",
but the Fox press release says "Marge and Homer...", and these are
almost always the correct titles; also note the ID is HABF16, not
HABF15 as The Futon Critic originally listed

5/28 - PRE-EMPTED for the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race (western stations
will air local programming after the race)

STUFF for "Regarding Margie" (HABF13)
-------------------------------------
Written by Marc Wilmore
Directed by Michael Polcino
Blackbaord: I WILL NOT LEAK THE PLOT OF THE MOVIE
Couch: Five cars appear and transform into the family (repeat of
GABF12)
Special Guest Voice: Sal Bando, Gene Tenace, Marcia Wallace
Also Starring: Pamela Hayden, Tress MacNeille, Karl Wiedergott
Overseas Animation: Akom
TV Rating: TV-PG-L

REVIEW: B-minus - once Marge didn't recognize Homer, the episode just
became a complete downer, and the "hey, Marge remembers who
Homer is, now throw in a snap joke and roll the credits"
ending didn't help matters.

REFERENCES
"Regarding Henry" (title)
"Million Dollar Baby" (Marge hits her head on the side of a
three-legged stool, then mentions being hit like a boxer)
3F09 (Homer fights George H.W. Bush in the sewers)

DYN
....the 1974 Oakland A's car did not include 1974 World Series MVP
Reggie Jackson? (They're probably mad that he chose to go into the
Hall of Fame as a New York Yankee)
....Flanders's house number is 738? (Didn't it used to be 740?)
....Marge never asked who the father of her children was?
....when the numbers are being painted on the curbs, there's no
white background? (The white background makes them much easier
to read)

GOOFS / FREEZE FRAME / WHATNOT
Sal Bando and Gene Tenace were, in fact, members of the Oakland
Athletics, known at the time as "the Swingin' A's", which won the
1972, 1973, and 1974 World Series; Bando was the team captain, and
Tenace is probably best known for being the first player ever to hit
home runs in both of his first two World Series times at bat. The
two most famous players from those teams are probably Reggie Jackson
and Vida Blue. Owned by Charles O. Finley, the team was known for
its three uniform styles (including green, gold, and white tops) and
the players wearing mustaches.

The box of steaks couldn't have fit all of the stakes Homer had as
well as the dry ice that kept them cold and the styrofoam box they
are kept in.

Moe's shotgun fired three shots without his reloading.

Ned's house number is 738; in 3F09 and 5F11, it is 740.

That's actually pretty weird anyway. Ned's house could only be 740 or
744 as he is OFF's neighbourino.

And what would 740 be now? There is nothing between it, also not right
in the middle behind or for the houses.

Only thing I can think about is that 740 is on the other side of the
road, I know from streets in my hometown where a part is all even
numbers and an other part is all odd. But that still goes 1-3-5 and
2-4-6, etcetera. On the other side of the road they just continue
counting where they stayed, so if side 'x' of this street ended with 15,
it would go on on side 'y' with 17.

Yeah, I know it's a pretty complicated way to explain something that's
probably just a fault. Or are the writers/animators testing us ;)

That's not the only way houses can be numbered. I think it's not uncommon to
step by a larger number, but I find that often it's not an orderly numbering
scheme at all. Compare it to highway exit numbers based on sequence and
miles. For example, my house (in a residential suburban area) is 2820, but
our neighbor to one side is 2808. I don't know offhand how the rest go, but
it's definitely not adding by twelves; it's based on the actual location of
houses. This is useful, actually, because until about 5 years ago there was
a big wooded area to the other side of my house, and now there are two
houses there; might be hard to squeeze in if the house on the other side
were 2822 or something.

That's, well, a good explanation for it.

Didn't think of that, but thats more because if you even find an empty
space here in the Netherlands it has probably already got a housenumber,
only someone forgot to build the house ;).

When 911 service came to my parents' neck of the woods (back when I was in
high school), they numbered the houses on the road to go up by two every
50 feet. This, however, is in a relatively rural area, where some of the
houses are set back from the road a good ways.

Maybe Spingfield's 912 service renumbered the street.
