Okay, I nominate this for worst Harry Potter fanfic ever:
http://www.inquiringminds.org/newsletter/0504/wizards.html
This is from a newsletter promoting critical thinking and skepticism for
young people, which is a perfectly good cause, but apparently they thought
the solution for trying to dress up a collection of links to blog postings
would be to slap a bunch of Harry Potter references on it. 'Cause then all
the kids would automatically think it was cool, right?

I must admit, it sure reads like a 19-year-old's notion of a good way
to write a story.
(Apologies to all those 19-year-olds out there who can write well. Of
course I'm not talking about *you*--I'm talking about all your cohorts
who couldn't write their way out of a paper bag.)

Actually, that's a transcript of one of last year's incarnations of the
Skeptic's Circle, a biweekly "blog carnival" where bloggers submit entries
that are related to skepticism. Each "meeting" has a different narrative
theme, and that one just happened to have an HP theme. The most recent one
was made to look like the presentation of a scientific paper; the one
before that had the theme of an archaeological dig in the far future.
