a STAR WARS memory - lookin' for confirmation [message #263242] Di, 09 Mai 2006 12:56
The General
Yo,

I vividly remember watching STAR WARS (A New Hope etc...) on Australian
television back in the 80's and distinctly recollect that during the final
shot, where we see Luke and Han face the camera wearing their medals with
the music swelling, the words 'MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU' appear on screen
in a bold white font.

Don't think I've seen this version anywhere else since and have never read
any direct reference to this in my online travels so I was hoping someone
out there might be able to confirm its existance for me. Seems like a pretty
weird thing to falsely imagine, however.

Anyone?

It might be kind of hard to find any other Australians(colonizing bastards)
on here.

I've been here for 8 years and there have been plenty of other Aussies here
throughout that time, including the great Harl the Mad.

Well, wasn't necessarily looking for someone who saw the same broadcast...
just a version with that text at the end.

Sorry, but you're incorrect !

Greetings to other Aussies from the West Coast of OZ!

Sorry, I can't help with the question though.

A little known fact. Brett and Harl actually helped to colonize this
newsgroup. They were rounded up by the Empire for "high crimes against the
Supreme Chancellor" and banished to alt.fan.starwars. Throughout the years,
we've had the occasional group of Rebels looking for safe haven or some
stray Imperials seeking out pleasure not allowed by the Empire. Then there
are the smugglers who supply them all with whatever they need. ;-)
The rest, as they say, is history.

Are you sure you're not combining your memory of Star Wars and the end of
Spaceballs which ended with the words "May The Schwartz Be With You" ??
