No review here, although the episode continues to prove why 27 is one
of the coolest numbers out there (what can I say, besides a Simpsons
fan, I'm also a Weird Al fan and an otaku)

Comments
For those people who aren't familiar with Broadway terms, the book
refers to the script in a musical outside of the songs.
Yentl is a 1983 film that starred Barbara Streisand as a female who,
after being the Talmud by her widowed father, decides to continue to
learn Jewish traditions following her dad's death. However, since
women weren't allowed to learn Jewish texts in the days when Yentl
were set, she forced to disguise herself as a man in order continue her
religious training.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing (re Al) as soon as I saw the 27 pop up!

Weird Al's pretty cool, but it's been years since I heard anything by him
(outside of his cameo in "Three Gays of the Condo (EABF12)"). What's the
significance of 27? Same question for "otaku."

As far as Weird Al goes, this is the best resource:

I'll admit that some of them are pretty silly or a stretch, but there are a lot
of neat coincidences.

Matt Garvey has already explained the "Weird Al" part. As for the otaku
part, that's something more personal for me, although I can tell you
that the "otaku" is a term used to describe anime fans in America.
