1st vignette:

McAlister says to Lisa: "Now who's being naive?" If you watched
enough AMC this weekend, you could have seen Al Pacino say it to Diane
Keaton. Several times.

Ned Flandish - Myles Standish

Going from sanguine to bilious - from "blood red" to "excreting bile".
Let's make litter out of this literati.

Mayflower - Gayflower, the 1000000th gay reference on OFF?

Horseplay, roughhousing, horsehousing?

There was an ad for the new movie "Poseidon", the remake of "The
Poseidon Adventure" after the first vignette.

2nd vignette:
Marge is excited about "The Bounty" paper towels. Where's Chad
Sexington with his Burly paper towels when you need him?

The recruiting poster for the British Navy says: "Less Scurvy, More
Curvy".

Uter is alive and well, and a member of the crew. MIT IODINE!

The story behind the Easter Island statues is explained. Even though
they are on Tahiti. They are carvings of the face of Lord Uglyface.

3rd vignette:
Mr. Burns is the Captain of the "Neptune", the Greek G-d of water. The
vignette spoofs "The Poseidon Adventure", and Poseidon is the Roman G-d
of water. The original movie was produced by Irwin Allen, and he was
stingy when it came to his copyrights, so perhaps they were too cheap
to pay his estate to use the word Poseidon, and used Neptune instead.

After all, remember the "Lost in Space" (another Irwin Allen vehicle)
spoof in "Fear of Flying"?

Marge: No I didn't.
Zweig: Yes you did. And you also infringed on any number of
copyrights.
-- Dr. Zweig, psychiatric lawyer, "Fear of Flying"

Quotes provided courtesy of http://www.snpp.com/episodes/2F08.html.

The "Neptune" has power plant cooling towers for smokestacks.

Burns is referred to as the "Leroy Neiman of seamen". The captain in
the movie was "Leslie Nielsen".

Various OFF characters and their "The Poseidon Adventure" counterparts
include, courtesy of http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069113/:

Homer Simpson - Gene Hackman .... Rev. Frank Scott
Lisa Simpson - Carol Lynley .... Nonnie Parry
Comic Book Guy - Shelley Winters .... Belle Rosen
Old Jewish Guy - Jack Albertson .... Manny Rosen
Bart Simpson - Eric Shea .... Robin Shelby
Lenny Leonard - Roddy McDowall .... Acres (maybe this is incorrect).

Burns refers to various disasters: Earthquake, Towering Inferno, these
are also movies produced by Irwin Allen.

And of course they had to call that Stephen King rip-off 'The Shinning' to
avoid being sued...
