The "Mystery Box" was recently posted on Zappateers. I was intrigued
to realize that it contained outtakes from YAWYI ("Teenage Wind,"
"Drafted Again") that I haven't heard before...nifty!
Have those ever shown up in better quality elsewhere? What the heck is
the source for that? It isn't the actual "Crush All Boxes" album, I'd
think, as those two tracks weren't on it...they sound like rough
mixes, actually.

I follow up by noting that I'm shocked to hear the "rough tape" of the
Thana overdubs that would later show up on the reissue of "Sleep Dirt"
(i.e. WITH the segue between Flambay and Spider of Destiny).
Sheet. I'm more impressed by this thing than I thought I would be.

That's what I think, too. I have a few of those scattered on various
tapes, including "Fine Girl" with a drum intro and more of Bob Harris's
falsetto over the coda instead of the chorale. They must have spent
some time working on the segue from "Fine Girl" to "Easy Meat," since
that shows up multiple times. I'm hoping someone who has more of this
stuff will organize it one of these days.
