It's being reported today on Leaky Cauldron that Jim McManus will be
playing Aberforth Dumbledore in OOTP.
There's a pix of him
at:www.gazette-du-sorcier.com/IMG/jpg/McManus-2.jpg

Seems like good casting, although, IMO, I think he looks more like
Richard Harris than Michael Gambon.

Wow, I was pretty sure that Aberforth Dumbledore was going to be cut
from the film; isn't the only thing he does distributing a couple of
bottles of butterbeer?

Hey, if he's any good an actor maybe they should look at casting him as
Albus.

The only thing I can think of is that this was one of these decisions by Jo.
He must have a serious part coming in book seven.

He may be replacing McGonigal as the Transformations Professor and Head
of Griffendor. Afterall she is now Head Mistress of Hogwarts.

I can see it now, the twin that looks exactly like DD (with a little
magical help) dying in his place. Snape promised to kill DD and he
did, Aberforth DD.

Tis a far far better thing I've done than I've ever done before, or
something like that. :)

You know, I don't think that happened, but it's really a very good
thought!

You know DD did tell Draco that he could make it look as if he and his
mother died, so they could go into hiding. I've often wondered if Snapa
and DD did the same thing for him. His tomb appearred in a flame shaped
as a phoenix. Who is reborn from fire...

It could be something to do with the prophesy. All I recall Dumbledore ever
saying (until HBP) was that the eavesdropper was disturbed halfway through
the prophesy, it was likely that Aberforth was the one who disturbed him.
This is of course assuming that Aberforth is the bartender at the hogs head.
