I think that train is slow enough that you should have been able to
finish the book.

What ABOUT Ginny hexing Draco..?? We have no idea what you are even
asking.

I think he/she is referring to the end of one of the books, where
Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny cast Hexes at Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle,
and amusing results occur.

Wasn't that the end of OOTP? I think that was too cheerful for the
ending of GOF.

The Bad Boy Trio are stunned by Fred, George, Hermione, and Harry at
the same time at
the end of GoF. the twins then proceed to step on them as though they
were floor mats
when entering their compartment.

The multiple hexing comes at the end of OotP. The Slytherins receive a
hail of hexes from
the DA when they attempt to extract revenge on Harry for the
imprisonment of their parents.

No, book 4 finished at the station, where Hermione did something
that she had never done before, and kissed Harry on the cheek.

No, you are wrong and Magic Mom is right.

Mewthree is thinking of near to the end of book 5, where Draco & his
henchmen were hexed by Ernie Macmillan, Hannah Abbott, Susan Bones,
Justin Finch-Fletchley, Anthony Goldstein and Terry Boot.

Still bitter and biased, eh Blon? Look back at what Magic Mom said:
"What ABOUT Ginny hexing Draco..?? We have no idea what you are even
asking."

Saying she is "right" about that is pretty useless. I was talking about
which book, and she was talking about what "mewthree" was saying. We
weren't even in an argument where one of us could be "right" and the
other could be "wrong."

Man, why do people like Chris assume you're a neutral observer?

So, I'm right, then. OOTP. Book 5.

You'll do anything to say that I'm NOT right, even if you say I'm right
immediately after that.

Even worse, is this necessary? I don't even see how, based on the
difference between our comments, you could even decide one of us was
right and the other was wrong.

Yeah but Mewthree could also be thinking of the last chapter in GOF
when Draco & his henchmen were hexed by Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred,
and George - still not getting a hex from Ginny though but.

No, you're wrong, then. In book 5 it was Ernie, Hannah, Susan, Justin,
Anthony and Terry; not Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny. See?

And before you pretend you were talking about book 4, that was Harry,
Ron, Hermione, Fred and George; not Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny.

Magic Mom is capable of answering for herself, but I said she was right
since she questioned that Ginny ever hexed Draco on the train home.

If you were not wrong, then please tell which book ended with Harry,
Ron, Hermione, and Ginny casting hexes at Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle.

Yes, I realised that when lunchtime was over, after I'd already posted
and it was too late. Mewthree was more correct than I gave her/him credit
for since the book did finish with Draco getting hexed on the train, (but
not by Ginny), and you remembered Ron when others forgot to include him.

Actually, instead of that, can you clear up with Blon that you weren't
making a statement supporting or against the question of the original
poster?

She seems to be fantasizing that you and I were in some sort of
disagreement, and wanted to swoop in and declare you the victor.

The way I read it, "mewthree" was attempting to ask if there was a
hexing of Draco by Ginny in GOF.

I though you were asking what "mewthree" was saying, in your reply.

Then, I replied indicating the scene I believed "mewthree" remembered
was in OOTP.

Then, since I chose to name some names that were incorrect for that
scene, Blon decided her chance had arrived to hop in pedantically and
declare me incorrect. Oh what would we ever do without Blon. I'm so
impressed at her ability to flip through the books and read stuff. I
wish I could do that.

Anyway, did I interpret the OP or your reply incorrectly? I didn't
think we were in an argument over whether Ginny ever hexed Draco or
not.

By the way, I still think my answer of OOTP is correct, even if the
scene is wrong. Didn't she hex Draco in Umbridge's office, as others
(to not name names so that Blon can't be a pedant) took Umbridge to a
fateful meeting with the Centaurs?

So, again, it was in OOTP, not in GOF. And, I believe that answers the
intent of the OP. Mewthree, is that a true statement?

No, that's apparently NOT what she was saying, but we'll need her to
confirm. Read it again: "What ABOUT Ginny hexing Draco..?? We have no
idea what you are even asking."

Emphasis hers. The emphasis on "about" indicates that she is asking for
elaboration, not that she's denying it ever happened. The second
sentence indicates that the question was unclear, which it was (garbled
English).

Looking back, with an objective view (vs. a prove-Aaron-wrong view),
can't you see this is a better interpretation of her reply to the OP?

If not, please explain how you read it differently...I'm not seeing it.

And again, you thought you were entering an argument for the purposes
of putting me in my place.

That's what I'm objecting to. At least you're not denying that. But it
wasn't an *argument* with Magic mom. As such, you didn't need to spell
out who was "right" and who was "wrong."

Yes.

Now look at the original post.

mewthree wanted to know if that happened at the end of GOF (see the
title of the thread).

I may have named the wrong people, but I was answering the question as
to which book. I didn't go and look up if it was Ginny, just so that I
could make mewthree look bad.

You're being pedantic. I was actually trying to help the OP by pointing
him/her to the right book for the event about which it seemed he/she
was asking. You, apparently, are only seeking to find any mistakes in
my assistance, for reasons I think we both well know.

See?

wait, too late.

Self-examination time, Blon.

She did not. Read it again, or look at my other post.

It wasn't an argument, so who is "right" and who is "wrong" aren't as
important as just getting the correct information out there. But
apparently you don't understand that.

Ok.. if what I said needs clarification, here goes.

I often have problems with mewthree's posts. I was mainly being a snot
in my response; however, I also mis-read what was in his/her original
post. The question was not clear to me, and instead of just ignoring
it, as I should have, I decided to be juvenile and make a mean comment
about the *slow train*. Many things said here are to create discussion
and it is usually interesting and a change of pace to see other's
responses to ideas or thoughts we have about these books. Most of the
time though, the discussions are brought about by those who have
actually read the books, even if sometimes we don't correctly recall
events in correct order or involving the correct characters. That is
usually, and easily enough, dealt with. Sometimes though, it seems as
if there are posts here that are for no real reason of discussion; for
example, a silly question that could just as easily been answered by..
re-reading a section of the book. The original post here, was, to me,
just such a question. And it bugged me enough that I got rude. Not
unusual for me, but I should know better.

No apology needed IMO Magic mom, but then again, I'm apparently an
asshole.

At any rate, this is EXACTLY what I thought you were getting at in your
post. Thank you for clarifying.

Blon, please note that, indeed, I interpreted her post correctly and we
were NOT in an argument as to whether Ginny ever hexed Draco or not.

Obviously, with books in hand, you won that argument with ME, but you
made it into an argument...Magic mom and I were never even in a
discussion over the "facts" implied by the OP. I'm not impressed that
you can cite facts specifically when you have books in hand. My 2 year
old daughter can almost do that.

Once again, you were joining in to try and prove something. I wish you
would just admit it and try to do better, but you're probably not even
reading this. Unfortunate, for all of us.

Stop wriggling, and just for once admit that you're wrong.

Umbridge's office is in the castle, not on the train home.

Don't worry, with some people around nobody else comes across as rude.

Ijust finished rereading OotP. Ginny Bat-Bogey-Hexed Draco when
they made their escape from Umbridge's office while Harry, Hermy,
and Dolores were in the forest dealing with the centaurs.

At the end, Draco and company are hexed repeatedly until they appear as nothing
more than giant slugs in robes. This by several DA members who were standing
up for Harry as Draco and company were indeed trying to extract revenge for
the imprisonment of their fathers.

I did, somewhere else in my replies.

Stop ignoring parts of my posts, so that you can only reply to the
parts that make you look good.

Admit that magic mom and I weren't disagreeing about whether Ginny
hexed Draco on the train or not.

THEN we might get somewhere.

There are two books that end that way. in book 4 it is harry and co with
ginny and the twins I think. I am not sure about ginny.
that is the one where goyl winds up with little tenticals on his face do to
the cross effect of two diffrent spells.
It is even worse in book 5 when several members of the DA do it rather then
harry and co.
I don't know why some many people are just remembering one or the other of
these two endings.

That's right Zolak, so it wasn't on the train home.

Right again, but Ginny was not one those DA members.

Wriggle wriggle wriggle...

I freely admit this...

....but...

....I never said that you were disagreeing. She said that Ginny didn't
hex Draco on the train at the end of book 4, which is quite correct.

You said that at the end of one of the books, Harry, Ron, Hermione
and Ginny cast hexes at Draco, Crabbe and Goyle, which is incorrect.

Ever since then, you've wriggled to avoid admitting you were wrong.

Book 4 ends with Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred and George doing the hexing.

A book later it was Ernie, Hannah, Susan, Justin, Anthony and Terry.

Ginny was not involved in either hexing incident on the train home.
