*solemnly lights a candle*
Today is a day of remembrance and sadness. Whether or not any historical
event actually occurred, the story is representative of conflict and
enmity that has existed for centuries But we are working, both Here and
elsewhere, to slowly bridge the gaps between (Western) dragons and
humans. There is sadness for the past, but there is also hope for the
future.
(With apologies to any English dragons...or does that make it especially
painful?)

George is a rubbish patron saint for England, even aside from the
dragon-slaying bit. I mean, he never came within a thousand miles of
our shores. :P
I have to say, if George actually were facing a dragon intent on killing
innocent people, I can't entirely blame him for defending them with
lethal force. OTOH, in all likelihood he actually killed a Nile
crocodile, which, while bad news for the beastie in question, allows us
to be supremely indifferent to him. >:)

Cira thinks on this one for a while.
"You know, I suppose I never /really/ thought about it. I always
sort of liked it, but only because it had my RL name in it and
had something to do with dragons. Rather foolish on my part I
suppose. Perhaps I merely had a difficult time taking the whole
thing seriously. I mean, the 'dragon' was always depicted as
something that looked more like a stretched out cat or a pig.
Very small, and odd, rather undragonish looking."

That pretty much sums up how I feel about St George's Day too. England
makes more fuss over St Patrick's Day! (Although the excuse to have a
drink probably helps a lot with that) :D

The fact that Ken Livingstone despises the English and sucks up to
Republicans has more to do with it IMHO

St George's Day is also not celebrated outside London. :)
(There is a bit of a revival in festivities going on a the moment, but I
reckon it's a flash in the pan.)

I actually completely forgot about St. George's Day. It must be some
coincidence that my brother's birthday fell on the same day.

Wait, no it isn't. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting Alzheimer's (is
that even possible, I'm only 16), I just keep forgetting things. His
birthday's a day before.
On another note, I almost took St. George as my Confirmation name last
year. But my father basically had one picked out for me. But if I
had, I might have started to laugh when I was called.
And something else I found:
"Tambi=E9n es el patr=F3n de los caballeros y de los "Boy Scouts"
He's also the patron of knights (obvious) and of the Boy Scouts.

"Gee, I remember being 16 and not being able to remember anything.
Schedules, assignments, reading plans... Fortunately it got better now
I can remember... um, remember... ah what was I saying? I suppose
I'd better add another + to my A tag."

Phew, so I have some hope... But I can't see why anyone would be able
to remember a past-life, I have trouble even remembering this one.

Mine, for the record, is the same life I'm currently living. I didn't die,
therefore it's not a past life.

I'm willing to dye but can't find enough hair to make it worth while.
