In TESB, officer after officer is killed by being Force-strangled by
Vader for making a mistake.
Maybe Vader should be strangled too? It was his idea to let the Falcon
go in ANH, and his plan failed - mistake was "maxi-big".

You honestly think that the only person(s) who knew were on the Death
Star? Vader wouldn't have his plan to Palpatine or someone else? Just
curious...
