We shall punish you by making you watch 'The Simpsons Movie' over and
over and over again. It's gonna suck.

Doesn't it seem like "The Simpsons" is becoming everything it ever made
fun of? The show was great for the first four seasons and it's been
coasting ever since.

You need to post some evidence to support your thesis. Otherwise I will
simply say, "the answer... is NO."

"Homer vs Dignity"

and a whole host of other crap that's come through since then.
Bart faking his own kidnapping after attending a rap concert was really
awful.

DNA guy: Ooh, ooh, ee, ooh, ooh, that takes, uh, eight to ten weeks.

DNA guy: Did I say weeks? 'Cause I meant seconds.

Example: Bart is reading a "Mad" feature entitled something like "A
Mad Look at Hippies." Bart says, sincerely, "Wow, those Mad guys aren't
afraid whose toes they step on". But the entire point of the joke is
that Mad magazine has become so lame that it's still satirizing 30 year
social trends.

A few seasons later, "The Simpsons" has an episode in which Homer
becomes a hippie.

That was several years after the fourth season. It is not a bad episode,
except for the whole panda rape scene.

Well, in one episode, Bart got his "Mad Magazine Special Edition -
there's only about 18 of these a year". And in the magazine, they were
making fun of Spiro Agnew. By your logic, a few seasons later, Homer
should have become Spiro Agnew.

Such as the example I gave /that you snipped/, genius.

Hallmark and Disney, homogenized, and sold off piece by piece.

Hold it, professor. One bad example does not constitute "a whole host of
other crap". IMO, ten examples would make a whole host, or at the VERY
least, TWO examples.

If we're voting, I vote that it takes eight instances to be a "host".
Eight has always been a good integer - and it has never really received the
credit it deserves.
IMHO

OK.

"Pranksta Rap", "A Tale of Two Springfields"*, "HOMR", "Pokey Mom",
"Saddlesore Galactica"*, "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Marge", "New Kids on
the Blecch", "The Blunder Years", "The Lastest Gun in the West",
"Fraudcast News".

* these precede "Homer Vs Dignity", but which I retroactively deem just
about as bad. So it's a whole host of other crap, some of which was
contemporaneous and most of which came after.
