same here, though i don't really know how patches work. nicotine itself
is quite deadly as a poison. it is true that smoking confers some
resistence to death by nicotine poisoning, whatever that's worth. this
was an unliked scene in the movie for me, and assumed it wouldn't be so
positive in reality. Still, it's not as nasty as on the Simpsons when
Krusty is covered with nicotine patches, without apparent ill effect.
Now, how many people are now going to smoke cigarrettes to try to
prevent fatality from nicotine overdose after seeing this movie? How
many people copied Krusty's fearsome acts after seeing him on the show
with nicotine patches, percodans and eating brains? i know i've drank
whiskey after i had seen the fourth seaspon episode with marge stealing
apu's hooch. i also drank after seeing homer drink. so i know how
influential the media is, from experiance.
