Although unknown to movie fans and the movie industry, legendary Bond
producer Albert R Broccoli had considered Pierce Brosnan for Casino
Royale back in 1995.
"We didn't have the rights to the book but we did a movie teaser poster
while our lawyers were in contact with the people at Sony."

They gave Brosnan the book Casino Royale to read, that is all.
