sorry if this has already been said - I'm not new here but I have'nt
been on for a very long time!
What do the bottles do that are on the table in the room with the door.
I have noticed that if you hold them over the plant they drip into it
but I don't know why. Is there a reason for them being there?

To help the plant grow of course!
Hint:
Try turning elctrical devices off/on in different places on the site.

I do need to improve on the posting, I agree! I really don't know what
happened! Thanks!
If I do turn some things on and off, will it be possible for me to open
the door?

The door won't open unless the "Do Not Disturb" sign is gone.

Great this time around.. only 1 copy. ;)

Looks like you are posting from google groups, probably via a web
page.
If that is the case, and you get impatient and hit "refresh" while it
is processing your post, it can include it multiple times.
>If I do turn some things on and off, will it be possible
>for me to open the door?
As Froggy stated, it seems the only time the door can be opened is
when the sign is not on the knob.
Turning things off and on will help you figure out how to use the
bottles.
if you decide you want another hint, here is Hint 2:
.no meht nrut uoy nehw sgniht ot ylluferac netsiL
(Written in a way to make it not spoil things if you want to try for
yourself. The mirror or erised will help you read the hint. ;)

Thanks! I ought to add that I am blonde and totally lack common sense!
Thus me spending ages trying to work out what Hint 2 was (I thought it
was an anagram and was trying for ages to work it out before reading
the bit underneath it!) :-)
Thanks!

There are two other things my lazy self (!) would like to ask - what
order do the words go in on the rubbish bin page and what are the
purposes of the cup of tea/coffee and the spinning top?
oh, and what do I do with the egg shells? ;-)
