So, if the star wars movies suck, what are you doing in here talking
about stuff you don`t like?

So, you didn't like Star Wars(IV), Empire Strikes Back(V), or Return of
the Jedi(VI) and thought Episode I, II, & III were great?

There are no books based on Episode 7-9 as there is no script, storyline
(except maybe vague in George's mind), no plans whatsoever.
The two existing trilogies form a reasonably coherent story and stand fine
on their own: it's the story of the rise, rule and eventual defeat of
Chancellor Palpatine. (Once I would have said it was about the rise and fall
of Anakin Skywalker but they botched that character so badly...)
An episode 7-9 trilogy would the most expensive, unnecessary, drawn out
epilogue in the history of storytelling. It's not gonna happen.

How old are you? Part of the reason so many fans have a problem with
Eps I, II, and III is that when we see them, we view them with the eyes
of an adult who can compare them to what we first saw in 1977, 1980, and
1983 as children, for the most part. Although, the effects in Eps I,
II, and III are superior by standards of technology, they are cold and
detached. We could never experience the prequels in the same manner as
the originals.
This is coming from a person who loved the original trilogy and was
stoked for the prequels. I was a little disappointed with some of the
choices Lucas made in the new films. Overall, though, the entire Star
Wars saga is a great story. We have had a lot of time to imagine how we
think the storyline should go; we have had a lot of time to consider
possibilities. We built the prequels up so much that it was almost
impossible for Lucas to be able to come up with a movie that would meet
our expectations.
Truth be told, there are many times that one could find fault with the
original trilogy. I can overlook these moments because of the essence
of the film.

If you think they suck, then why in the name of all that's good do you keep
watching them?

Compared to the originals, they sure do. But I did like Episode III. If I
could build a time-machine and go back I'd kick Luca's ass into a coma and
rewrite all the movies, they'd be phenomenal.

Is Star Wars the only movies Lucas worked on all these years? That and a few
crappy movies... like that movie about cars...
