In this issue of the James BONDLIST:
BOND with us this summer at our fan event! * Update your email list to
omnibilia.com * Visionaries to benefit from 007 * Lana Wood in Florida
* News, tidbits and trivia
Note: If you are a minor, please discuss BONDLIST opportunities with
your parent or guardian before responding to solicitations from us or
our partners.
* We've sold more spaces on our 9th annual BOND COLLECTORS' WEEKEND
this month. Visit http://articles.omnibilia.com or see our upcoming TOY
SHOP ad for more. This year's guided tour is of Nassau, The Bahamas
with numerous locations from a half-dozen Bond films including Casino
Royale starring Daniel Craig! BONDLIST members may still receive the
$50 per person discount on all prices listed on our website! Book your
cabin or suite today!
* REMINDER to update all your email lists to matt [at] omnibilia.com as
007Forever.com is still open but NOT accepting mail. Speaking of secure
mail, we recommend our friends who offer FILTERED email addresses on
their www.justcleanmail.com domain for $5 per month.
* BONDLIST/OMNIBILIA has offered a lot of James Bond auction items
worth thousands of dollars for the New York Visionaries auction on
April 5 honoring, among others, Anthony Rapp, star of Rent (the show
and film) and Iris Barrel Apfel, the world's foremost textile expert,
whose recent costume exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was the
best-attended exhibit since the original King Tut show. Both Anthony
and Iris are characters who are known for their signature glasses, and
the charity is benefiting Lighthouse International with outstanding
celebrity eyeware and other offerings from the stars.
007Forever.com/Omnibilia contributed first editions of Live and Let Die
and Diamonds Are Forever, Bond's two greatest NY adventures, along
with premiere items from James Bond's NY movie galas. Camilla
Parker-Bowles' nephew is chairing the event so Her Majesty is on a
direct link! Go Visionaries tomorrow night!
* Trivia Question: What is M's "real" name? A. Sir Miles Messervy
is only half the answer until you remember that Dame Judi Dench has
portrayed Barbara Mawdsley across the Brosnan films.
* A recent Mark Philips PBS special on wines and wine tasting
emphasized that potato chips go very well with champagne. North of the
Idaho Caspian, perhaps? Caviar and/or potato chips go well with a
fruity wine, you see, because of their high salt content. Let's hope
Daniel Craig keeps pure with his choice of Dom accompaniment for the
upcoming 007 epic, shall we?
....Flick, meet The Brozza. Judy and Vic Flick (Vic is the JAMES BOND
NOW composer and the Bond Signature Theme Guitarist) were in Shatsis on
Main, a bar/restaurant in Santa Monica, the other evening when Judy
suddenly remarked, "I think that's Pierce Brosnan sitting at the end
of the bar!" And, indeed it was. Judy went over to talk and he
insisted on coming over to Vic for chit-chat. The two swapped "Bond
stories" whilst the bar clientele looked on! Vic said Pierce is a
very nice chap. Wife Keeley arrived and dragged a reluctant Brosnan off
to a dinner engagement. All in all, a good evening in L.A.!
....The marvelous Lana Wood, Plenty O' Toole in Diamonds Are Forever,
was in Florida last week, in Mt. Dora during one of the city's
well-attended art festivals. She generously took an hour of her time to
meet privately with a few BONDLIST'ers following a day of signing.
She is still and always fabulous! Go, Lana!
....BONDLIST'er Christopher De Stefano is currently shooting his third
film, an action packed short with car chases and an aerial skydive! I
think I have seen something like that before with Sir Roger Moore
starring, eh? More details as footage rolls in...
....LIST'er and author Cy Tymony presents two special programs on June
10 at the International Spy Museum on making your own Q-like gadgets!
One meet is for families and the other for adults. Visit
www.spymuseum.org and www.sneakyuses.com for more.
....Leo Quinones of 97.1 FM Los Angeles just interviewed Pierce Brosnan
and they spoke quite directly about the current state of 007. Log onto
www.IFILM.com and type The Matador into the search window...
....Kees "James" Boer (James is his middle name) has a video report
on his 007 collection at:
http://www.positive-entertainment.com/bondcollection/6pm007t v20report.wmv.
Kees also scooped most of the reporters in the Western World with his
Pierce Brosnan exclusive at his site at
http://www.positive-entertainment.com. At the time, Pierce was supposed
to be closed to all interviews, so check it out!
....Have you seen Deborah Lipp's new book on Bond fans and Bond fandom
at http://jamesbondfanbook.com/index.htm?
....A LIST member has posted an excellent site on billiards and pool
instruction at http://lutzpool.tripod.com. Enjoy! Trivia question:
Which two Bond films feature pool or snooker? A. The World Is Not
Enough (Q is hidden beneath a pool table at the Scotland MI-6 castle
HQ) and Goldfinger (The Fort Knox plans are hidden beneath Auric
Goldfinger's extraordinary revolving table)...
....BONDLIST'er Richard DuVal writes that Eastwood returns as Dirty
Harry in '06! Meanwhile, Pierce Brosnan's The Topkapi Affair will
sequel Thomas Crown. And, Harrison Ford will pursue John Wilkes Booth
himself in Manhunt. We're still holding our breath on his reuniting
with Sir Sean Connery for an Indiana Jones 4!
Our pals at Bondpix are pleased to present a new, exclusive interview
with the father of Little Nellie, Wing Commander Kenneth H Wallis. This
is a fascinating look at the career of the aviation pioneer, and can be
found at: http://www.djwilliamsphotography.com/articles/Ken_Wallis.htm
....Jonar Nader's marvelous Z is now sold in Russia, Poland, Hungary,
Czechoslovakia and more. This novel is a must read and one of the best
I've enjoyed in a lifetime devoted to reading! You can buy the book
online including all its fascinating and provocative ideas on
terrorism, espionage and more at Z at http://www.logictivity.com.
American publishers, take note!
....The following link is a neat piece on real-world spy gadgets:
http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4642780.stm?dynamic_ vote=ON#vote_464
Finally this issue, Hilary Duff's new "Beat of My Heart" video gives
homage to Maurice Bender's Bond sequences:

Yeah, 'tis a video game. Like Connery in FRWL, Clint is returning to do a
new voiceover for his famed character.
