This is something I noticed ages ago in a BBCi/Big Finish webcast of
Douglas' "Doctor Who" story 'Shada'. Some of you may know that filming
was never completed on the show, due to finish off the 1979 season of
the programme, because of industrial action at the BBC.
It was Douglas' last script for "Doctor Who" and, in 2003, the BBC
commissioned Big Finish Audios to remake it as an audio programme. BBCi
added limited animations, turning it into a highly successful webcast.
It resides at http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/webcasts/shada/.
You may well be asking yourselves whether I'm actually going to get to
my point or not. I will, of course. Among the animation scenes
available on the website is the Shada interior
( http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/webcasts/shada/galler y/scenery/shada_int.shtml).
If you look at the medium-sized version at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/webcasts/shada/galler y/scenery/images/800/shada_int.jpg
(or any version, for that matter, the medium-sized, i.e. 800px by
600px, is detailed yet shouldn't take too long to download), you may
notice two interesting little figures in the front cells of the middle
column at the bottom.
That's right, that's Zaphod Beeblebrox (the TV series version) on the
left and Arthur (also the TV series version) in captivity. If you look
at the bottom left-hand corner, you may notice, oh my golly gosh!,
another Arthur.
I can't remember which episode these scenes come from (episode 5 or 6,
I think), but Arthur and Zaphod are dangerous and confined criminals in
those scenes.
