"I’VE seen James Bond ski off cliffs, bungee jump from gigantic dams, fly
around in a jetpack and dangle from a cable car.
But DANIEL CRAIG, the latest man to be handed the licence to kill, is
learning the most unusual stunt technique of all — parkour.
No, it’s not a cheapo jacket with a furry hood.
Parkour, or free-running, is the ultimate urban sport and involves using
buildings and stairs as workout tools.
You may have seen it in a BBC promo where a muscular bloke stripped to the
waist runs across London rooftops.
Daniel has been taking lessons from the founder of parkour — a French fella
called SEBASTIEN FOUCAN.
Seb is playing Bond’s nemesis, Mollaka, in the new Casino Royale remake
thanks to his fearless skills and nimble moves.
He once made a death-defying leap across a gap in the roof of the Millennium
Stadium.
And I hear Daniel, who is in the best physical shape of his life, has become
an accomplished performer. A source said: “Daniel and Seb have become good
pals while filming.
“Daniel decided to take up parkour because it was perfect for one of their
fight scenes.
“Seb gives him personal tuition and Daniel has taken to it incredibly well.”
Craig has been given more than his fair share of stick for being a bit of a
softie, but this is incredibly tough stuff.
MADONNA loves the philosophy behind the sport and Seb recently starred in
her Hung Up video.
Parkour specialists believe there are no obstacles in life and that you
should do everything with grace and beauty.
I reckon most blokes feel the same way when they swing from lampposts on
their way home from the pub . ."
