For those who may not have recognized the relevance of this post...
Bruce Hampton, Harold Kelling, earlier HGB bassist Charlie Phillips
(older brother of Glenn), and road manager Sammy Whiteside talked on
Lumpy Gravy.
The Hampton Grease Band opened for the Mothers at the Fillmore East,
June 1917.

They also signed to Bizarre in 1972, and broke up the following year
when Hampton went to California to audition to sing with the Mothers.

Pretty funny that people still remember a Usenet typo
from 10 years ago!

I don't really remember the typo itself, just the tradition it started.
Did you make the original typo?
Would you like a toilet mint?

I remember the Fillmore East Concert. I may still have the album--not
sure. Maybe I can get it autographed. I listened to it a couple of
times over the past few decades. Maybe I will dig it out and give it
another listen (if I still have it). I didn't think that any else either
knew of their performance at the Fillmore East or heard of the group.
