Windu and Yoda [message #243355] Do, 30 März 2006 19:37
biowarble
Over the months and times of watching RotS, I kept thinking it was up
in the air as to whether Yoda or Windu was more powerful. As I watched
the fight with Yoda and Palpatine yesterday, I realized it was the
electrocution thingie that made Yoda lose his saber - and Windu kept
his sword and would have killed Palpatine if he would not have had his
hand cut off by AnaVader. So I think I'm finally settled on the issue.

but maybe the emperor showed himself as weaker than he actually is, because
he knew Anakin was coming

if you look well, you see that Palpatine is stronger and suddenly weaker and
then Anakin arrives

it's what I think

Palpatines was playing to lure Anakin even further over. Anakin thinks
he's protecting the weaker one, when in reality he's aiding the evil
one.

Remember too that Yoda caught and threw back Palpatine's force lighting - I
don't recall Windu doing that!

P.S. - Yoda lost his saber in the fall . . .

Didn't need to. He still had his saber. :-)

He fell and lost his saber because of the lightning.

Palpatine knew that Anakin is coming, so he played on the weak old guy card,
and made him belive Mace is doing something wrong...
What I think is strange is that the 2nd strongest Council member didnt sence
that Ani will attack him... in ep. 3 Yoda was the only 1 who really fought
as a jedi... Only one who survived order 66 with skill (Obi-Wan was lucky)
and only one powerful enough to fight the Emperor.

Other Jedi did survive Order 66, but we don't know who or how (luck,
skill, etc.) ... yet. :-)

As I said, we don't know who, but we do know that Vader (with the help
of bounty hunters) hunted down other surviving Jedi, so obviously
others survived to be hunted down.

Not all the Jedi were in command or anywhere near Clone Troopers at the
time Order 66 was given. Some were away on other missions that had
nothing to do with the Clone Wars and some would have been on missions
without Clone Troopers.

My opinion is that we can't necessarily call Windu the second most
powerful Jedi - he may have been the most powerful. He may have sensed
that Anakin would attack him - after all, he was telling Anakin not to
listen to Palpatine. Windu could simply not fight both Palpatine and
Anakin at the same time - Palpatine alone was a lot to handle.

And Yoda got lucky too - the clones near him acted slowly. Yoda sensed
something wrong and beheaded them.

Yoda's clones were unusually slow. They had the opportunity to fire as soon
as the order was given but reacted slowly.

The clones of Yoda aren't slow, they just suffer from speech dyslexia
worse than the original. ;-)
