Snape is really RAB using the Polyjuice potion.

The real Snape was using the Polyjuice Potion to impersonate RAB, and
got killed by Voldemort.

Proof? It's just a theory. It's not like I believe it...

RAB is Regalus, who's now Stubby Boardman. He faked his death, and
JK's right in Regalus being dead, because there is no longer any
Regalus. Only Stubby. So, Regalus is technically dead.

Polyjuice potion only lasts an hour (honestly, don't you READ? :-P ) so once
RAB is dead, the effect would wear off once you finished off however much
you'd made (remember in GoF, the Moody-imposter had to keep the real Moody
alive in the trunk to keep making fresh batches of polyjuice).
