I'm drawing a blank for x. For z, how about Zonko's Joke Shop or Blaise
Zambini? Consulting the HP Lexicon, there are also some obscure Quidditch
players (Zamojski and Zograf), and Rose Zeller is a Hogwarts student:

Thanks guys...how could I not think of Zonko's!
Someone just said
"X - XXX This is a designation is that given to a creature by the Ministry
of Magic's Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures."
Eh??

The number of X's denotes how dangerous the creature is. X means
completely harmless and can be freely shown to Muggles. XXXXX means
"known wizard-killer, impossible to tame (at least without very
specialized and rare magic, such as Parseltongue)." XXXXX covers
creatures like basilisks and Acromantula.

Indeed, keep that up and you'll spend a week in remedial potions ;-)

Kish explained the designations, but I don't think they're used in the main
books. They're fully described in Rowling's "Fantastic Beasts and Where to
Find Them" (which I highly recommend, along with her "Quidditch Through the
Ages" -- they're fun, short reads, and most of the proceeds go to kids'
charities):

If I remember correctly, he is Zacharias Smith, a resident of
Hufflepuff.
