On page 201 of the Scholastic harback edition of GoF, we read:
"Can I have a look at Uranus too, Lavender?" said Ron.
And a couple years later, they're briefly involved.
Makes you wonder...
Regards,
John

I'm not sure that "show" - at least in the visual sense...
Why am I wading in this cesspool?

IIRC, Trelawny also warned Lavender to "beware the redhead gentleman".
Maybe it was just a passing thing for that book, but with JKR I'd like
to thnk it hinted a HBP.

i can just imagine JKR sniggering to herself as she wrote that bit of
Trelawny dialogue.

The problem with this statement is that Ron is no gentleman.

Now that you bring that back, perhaps someone might explain me something
I don't remember (as usual, my books aren't' with me); how is that this
Lavender/Ron ever started? IICR, Lav-lav was giggling at Won-Won while
the Quidditch try-outs, so, she might have started fancying him since
then and Ron needed someone to make Hermione jealousy... I remember that
Harry got all fanciable but about Ron... I can't remember any indication
(I know ,this is from Harry's pov...), so...? teenagers are soooooo
complicated...

Who can say? The ways of teenage girls are strange indeed. If you
really want to read into it, you can say that besides being funny and
possible good looking, Lavender noticed that Ron spent a lot of time
with Hermione , and this troubled her. Lavender and Parvati are usually
depicted as giggling or engaging in some other annoyingly girlish
acivity. When I was in school these kinds of girls often spent LOADS
of time trying to look cute and thought the world of themselves. They
spent even more time being total b*tches to other girls. Maybe Ron was
like a conquest for her: if that plain, boring, formerly buck-toothed
Granger can get Ron, I won' have any problem at all. Or maybe, "what
does Granger have that I don't"?
