Well, RL does occasionally guard me from my computer with a flaming
longsword- so that was one part of the equation.

Another was the website was down for a long time (oh a few years ago I
guess) and I lost the newsgroup address. Then #afd on IRC moved or
something and I forgot which server it moved to. Then more RL stuff.

I was just doing a random search of my name yesterday to see if anyone
had been stealing it *a conversation brought up in another site* and I
found a cached record of this newsgroup on google that had my name
mentioned!

So of course I had to immediately come back and huggle you all!

Lost the newsgroup address? I doubt I'd ever forget alt.fan.dragons
unless I somehow contracted Alzheimer's or some memory disorder. But
real life does seem to get in the way at times for me, as does being
unable to find a decent free news server. I discovered I wasn't using
the right hostname for aioe.org, so now I have that available. But
thank goodness for Google...

Anyway, welcome back Onixica.

Well I had the newsgroup set up on my old computer at home which was
about 6 yrs ago and now I use all web based email and so I didn't lose
"alt.fan.dragons" but rather the ability to access it. What I lost
mostly was the access to the IRC part of alt.fan.dragons. :) I forgot
which server it was on in IRC. I think it used to be on dalnet but
moved a long time ago.

(in reference of some of the other replies) :) I haven't been on for
about 7-8 years. :)
