I've gone off Tetley recently. It's too strong to make a nice mug full. Last
time I tried PG Tips it tasted like leather. Yorkshire is OK but a bit weak.
At the moment I've been trying Sainsbury's own brand which is OK but lacking
something I can't quite put my finger on.

Any thoughts on what produces the best mug of char?

The only ones available convieniently here are Tetley, Liptons,
Twinnings, Red Rose, and occasionally something else

I liked Red Rose until they started putting out biblical
figurines, much earlier in the Bush Administration. I got
a couple of boxes with those, but I don't like looking at
them on the shelf. I loved them when they did endangered
species figurines. The Circus ones before that were good to.

I prefer Tetley to Liptons by a long shot, and both of them are
better than Twinnings. I'm also looking for the ideal brand of Tea.
From your list you have more brands available to you than I do,
and I envy you that.

I like a nice strong cuppa so it's Tetley all the way. Besides, I just
bought 160 for the price of 80 so they'll have to do until I run out.

Co-Op Clipper tea is the best tea bag tea I've ever tasted. You might want
to try that if you can get it. Also Yorkshire Gold is a little stronger than
the regular variety but rather expensive. I personally dislike PG Tips in
tea bag form too. The "loose" form is very different for some reason. Makes
a lovely cuppa if you brew it in a pot. Or a even a mug if you don't mind
straining the leaves through your teeth;o).

Whoa, 8. That's a lot. I drink between 1 and 3 mugs of coffee at work -
but seldom tea...

That's probably better than the 6-8 mugs just few months ago...

Between 1 and 3 mugs? Bah! I'm counting my coffee consumption in pots!

I should probably cut down to that...

Yes. I know it's much too little but I'm comfortable with it. Anyway,
I don't need coffee, I have just stopped sleeping.

Well, mostly...

I NEED COFFEE!!!

Read this first (norwegian only, sorry), it will teach that coffee is
good and much coffee is very good:

That's what I drank, back when the boss was paying for it.

Now I make one pot a day. It works out to three mugs. Then in the
evening I might have a cup or two of tea when I get home.

I find it to be about what I want.

I'd say wait till you don't want it any more. I've got to warn
you though, some people develop a nasty addiction to coffee they
can't shake. They get horrible headaches from not drinking the
stuff. They can't seem to taper off either.

It's one of the more maintainable addictions, but it's real.

Also that sounds very well. I often drink a couple of mugs in the
morning but usually no more than that. Every now and then also a few
during the day and sometimes a mug or two in the evening.

Recently I accidentally cut down (being on holiday, getting unusually
little coffee and then not restarting my usage when I was home) and
now entire days pass when I don't get a single cup...

I found - and heard - that the best way to cut down is to be
distracted to cut down without really noticing (like when I went on
holiday and came home de-addicted). It's almost but not entirely
unlike flying.
