007 tells critics to 'screw'
Loose comments ... Daniel Craig
By BECI WOOD
Sun Online
NEW 007 super spy Daniel Craig has told James Bond critics to go
'screw' live on US television.
The British actor was appearing on entertainment show Extra, where he
was asked how he has handled the reaction from his disgruntled fans.
Daniel said: "We're making a movie, and I think we're making a really
good movie.
"When it comes out, if they still feel the same way then, you know,
screw them!"
And anti-Daniel Craig website CraigNotBond.com has immediately hit back
at his shocking comments.
In a statement spokesperson Deanna Brayton said:
"As someone who has been a lifelong Bond fan and an admirer of the
humanitarian work and dignified bearing of former Bonds Pierce Brosnan,
Roger Moore and Sean Connery, I believe that Daniel Craig has disgraced
himself with his brusque remarks.
"It only goes further to support the position held by many fans that
Daniel Craig has neither the class required for the role of Bond, nor
the character to be the caretaker of such a beloved and iconic movie
hero.
"Our only hope is that Bond fans who have been on the fence about Mr.
Craig will now realize that we who were unhappy with him from day one
were right all along."
--- Personally, I appreciate his remarks. It's exactly what I would've
said if I were in his shoes.

Yeah. I don't recall any "lifelong" Bond fans being upset at Pierce's
"brusque" remarks when he declared, "fuck them," about the producers
over firing him. [Insert "goose, gander" euphamism here.]

You mean the dopy boycotters who call him ugly and compare him to
Gollum are mad because he was "rude?" Gotta love the double-standard.
Jackasses.

<wince>. Going back to a point Tom raised earlier, 'Screw them' is
pretty much international now IMHO, but 'go screw' is definitely an
Americanism in my book.

This is just hilarious. Apart from the hypocrisy which has been noted
elsewhere, the statement is so prim and po-faced that one could imagine
it coming from the mouth of Dame Edith Evans. If Brayton imagines that
sort of pomposity is going to win supporters to her cause, she's living
in the wrong century.
Best

'Why, I've never been so insulted in my life!'
'Well, it's early yet.'

I am a massive 007 fan
have spent loads and loads of dosh on bond goodies
massive collector of stuff
been to Premiers
Now I hated the idea of Bronson, but I saw Goldeneye and was impressed, and
I changed my opinion.
For me
Dalton and Connery were my favs, was a big fan of Roger Moores, but felt
that after his brilliant tough bond in LALD they ruined him and turned it
into a comedy/thriller series
Moonraker and the dreadful FAVTOK were the worst
Bronson tried to put some toughness back in 007 and the excellent TWINE and
DAD showed that.
Dalton was a lot like Craig, less toys, more acting, and more showing 007 as
"Human" how many times did Dalton need the girl to save him?
A lot of fans hated that, 007 showing weakness, how dare they.
One thing about Craig he is a "Actor" he is a dramatic actor, not a tough
guy actor, again like Dalton. But Dalton was a brilliant 007.
Give the bloke a chance, this film is going back to a earlier harder edged
007, and looks very interesting, starts off in B&W. My main problem in Julie
Dench, as M
WHY
Its meant to be a lot younger 007 so why on earth have her, its stupid.
This film will not be to everyone's liking, if its like the book, Moore fans
and maybe even Bronson fans will hate it.
But it is what Fleming wrote and what he wanted 007 to be like, and who
cares what colour hair he has, as long as he does a good as job as Dalton I
will be well happy
So shock/horror he said "screw you" on air! All the grief the bloke has got
before the film has even been made is crazy, if I was him I would have said
a lot worse
