On the Today Show this morning a quick story about Daniel Craig said he
could not drive a standard transmission.
Maybe that is why he will use a Ford in the new film. That and the 20
million Ford gave EON.

"Stick Shift." I don't think many cars sold in the US have gear-sticks,
as they are not popular there, are they? Why is everyone making a
big deal about Ford? They own Aston Martin and a new model
Thunderbird featured in DIE ANOTHER DAY. How is it any different
from BMW pumping money into GOLDENEYE, TOMORROW NEVER DIES
and THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH?

With this new movie, some feel inclined to whine about anything, whether it
be Craig's hair color, his jawline, his Speedo, his real-life aversion to
guns, etc. Who cares? If they make a good Bond movie this will be even more
irrelevent than it already is, if that's possible, lol

Exactly. The last film featured an overweight Bond with grey hair dyed
black driving an invisible car and they're mad about THIS???

In an interview with DC in this mornings paper, he says that's not true
and he can drive a manual transmission.
In fact he said he was driving the original DB5 at high speed round a
track, with a great big grin on his face the whole time, he loved
driving it he said.

out of interest
in the USA it seems most cars are "stick" in the UK its about 50/50 with not
many sports cars being Auto, I drive a Auto MR2
Why do the Americans prefer Auto?
For me its a lot more relaxing, just put in drive and go

Most cars in the U.S. are not stick. Automatic is definitely the rule here.

This story has been debunked. Craig can drive a manual transmission.

CORRECTION
It has come to our attention that several errors inadvertently crept
into our article of March 12 entitled 'Double-Ow Seven'.
Paragraph 2: 'cannot drive a stick-shift' should read 'can drive
a stick-shift'.
Paragraph 2: 'lost two front teeth' should read 'lost a cap on
his tooth'.
Paragraph 2: 'pale and skinny' should read 'bronzed and
muscular'.
Paragraph 5: 'to the dismay of Bond fans worldwide' should read
'to the dismay of two pissed-off Pierce Brosnan fans with a
website'.
Paragraph 8: 'in an interview' should read 'in quotes from six
different interviews which we've cut and pasted together with no
regard for context'.
Paragraph 12: 'silver goblet full to the brim with the blood of young
virgins' should read 'bottle of Evian mineral water'.
We apologise for any confusion these errors may have caused.

LOL! Satire is perfect for showing up stupidity.
I've a feeling that all these utterly ridiculous, inaccurate attempts to
paint Craig as wrong for Bond are backfiring, and are actually stoking
up interest in the film. EON will probably get the last laugh--all the
way to the bank probably.
