I've often felt that one way to avoid letting The Simpsons grow stale is
with alternate story-telling methods, which has been more frequent in
these last few years. I enjoyed tonight's episode, though it was a
little lighter on the CABF14-esque revelations than one might expect,
and I was certainly hoping (near the end, as it approached absurdity)
that most of it would be some character's fiction, as of course it did.
(Or did it?) Of course, I had high hopes for laughs and intrigue from
the episode description, so I'm glad I wasn't let down.
(Light on notes... most of the ones I wrote down were semi-grumblings
about the characters' pasts/new details anyway)
DYN:
....an unusual amount of classical music cues accompanied this episode?
Previous episode reference:
DABF17: "Wooly bully" pun made
Goof (of Bart's, I guess):
Assuming the part of the cave they were in was indeed not on the map,
wouldn't it also be reasonable to figure there would be absolutely no
light? (Or if there was a hole in the "ceiling" that was too small to
prevent exploration, wouldn't the ambient light be very dim?) I'm not
really a spelunker, though...
Other stuff
This episode was rated TV-14-DL. D is for "suggestive dialogue" and L is
for language; I guess I missed whatever was so inappropriate for
preteens, but what was it?
Finally, this Friday as I was flying home from Cleveland, I noticed that
a Jeff Martin was paged to retrieve his lost ID. Heh... I wonder...
