Hyderabad: Public broadcaster Doordarshan's plans for live coverage of
US President George W Bush and First Lady Laura Bush's first visit in
Hyderabad on Friday took a hit after one of the OB vans reserved for
the purpose was sent to cover the India-England Cricket match in
Nagpur.

After the 2nd day, England have recovered from a disastrous situation,
but India have the basis from which to assert their dominance, and the
English bowling doesn't seem capable of challenging this. So the
Indians can bat for as long as they want, leaving England to bat out
time to save a draw, or fail and lose.

I was afraid of something like that. I had added then deleted from my
previous post that I never could make heads or tails of cricket. Your
comments may as well have been in Sanskrit!
But thanks for responding.

India were in trouble thanks to some consistent bowling in the
corridor by Hoggard, but their tail has wagged and they go past the
follow on target. Panesar is getting some turn both over and round
the wicket, but he's only got the wicket of Tendulkar to show for it.
Kaif and Kumble are putting on a good partnership as Kaif progresses
toward his ton.
I hope this clarifies things.

Do you have a link that explains baseball to those who only know about
cricket?

Or both for those who know neither? ;-)
I have an uncle who has been playing cricket for years, and one evening
(at my mother's birthday, IIRC) I asked him to just give me an overview
of what it was about. He then looked at the clock and the beer supply
and said there wasn't time for that tonight ;-)
