Made by me!
Ok if you were the Casting Director who would you have play the roles?
Living or Dead and why?
1. Harry Potter-
2. Hermione Granger-
3. Ronald Weasley-
4. Albus Dumbledore-
5. Severus Snape-
6. Minerva McGonagall-
7. Rubeus Hagrid-
8. Vernon Dursley-
9. Petunia Dursley-
10. Madam Hooch-
11. Cybil Trelawney-
12. Draco Malfoy-
13. Moaning Myrtle-
14. Fred Weasley-
15. George Weasley-
16. Arthur Weasley-
17. Molly Weasley-
18. Sirius Black-
19. Remus Lupin-
20. Lucius Malfoy-
Ok, I figure this is long enough, If you want to add more you can. I just
didn't want to write a novel ;) I am curious to who others would like to
see in these rolls or if you think they are cast perfectly? ok.. Have fun!

I think the casting has been brilliant for the most part. Two roles I
would have preferred to be given to other actors are:
>
> 18. Sirius Black-
Michael Wincott. He's got that ruff, gruff, I-don't-give-a-damn attitude
I've always associated with Sirius.
21. Mad-Eye Moody
Marty Feldman. Come on, that eye! No make-up needed! Just a little CGI
to make it spin.

I can't imagine most of them being played by other actors; the image of
the present actors is too firm in my mind.

Leave as was: Michael Harris. Or get a director who understands the
character.

Alan Rickman works for this character, but Basil Rathbone or Raymond
Massey could have done excellent Snapes as well.

Leave as is, because the thirtysomething actress playing the role is
nice to my forty-year-old eyes.

Someone who could look more like a ladies' man (when properly dressed
and groomed) would be better. I don't think Gary Oldman's ever going to
look the part.
If we could get the immortal Leslie Howard, that would be cool.
> 19. Remus Lupin-
Thewlis is actually a very good Lupin.

Leave as is, although Rathbone or Massey could have done an awesome job.

Sounds like fun, admittedly I'm a tad biassed because I was introduced to
the series via the films so when I read the books I saw the actors in my
mind.

Leave as is, Dan, Rupert and Emma have grown into their roles nicely.

Harris was superb in the role, had he been healthier he could have well
managed to carry the role a bit more energetically but he did well enough.

All very good as they are. I'd also like to retain Bonnie Wright, Matthew
Lewis, Devon Murray, Brendan Gleeson and David Bradley. As for future
roles:
Scrimgeor - Billy Connolly.
Slughorn - The late great Leo Mckern.

Cool. And that is a nice picture!

Right. And he actually take a fair number of non-sexy roles, so his looks
aren't usually an issue in his films. But to suggest that he's couldn't
ever be considered good looking is just odd.

And by saying that these guys could have "done excellent Snapes," I do
not mean "done" in the sense that one would find in slash fic.

Let's take a view to my classification ;)
Gary Oldman: Handsome and sexy
Jason Isaacs: Handsome and sexy
Chow Yun-Fat: Handsome (Oh, yeah...)
Alan Rickman: Handsome
David Thewlis: Good Looking and sexy
Tom Felton: Just Good Looking (kill me hundreds of rabid fans!)
Luke Wilson: Not Ugly with personality
Justin Timberlake: Not Ugly without personality
Will Ferrell: If had lost a bet
Arnold Sch.... (?): If I were a drinker
Kid Rock: MY EYES MY EYES!!!
Denis Rodman: MY BRAIN MY BRAIN!!!
MIchael Jackson: MY SOUL MY SOUL!!!
Hope that helps.
I can't classify Daniel Radcliffe because he's not legal.

totally agree. Oldman has been my only disappointment in the casting. he
is creepy and weedy and only a mother could love. I thought Alan Rickman
would have been better actually.

Richard Harris, without a doubt.

Even when reading the book I saw Alan Rickman as Snpe, but I also pictured

When I look back at "The Borrowers" it is obvious how much talent Tom has to

I saw Alan Rickman, not knowing until later in the book if he was good or

Jason Isaacs is so hot, I don't care what he plays. He gives Lucious so
much depth.
Now for another character:
Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, I saw very clearly Ed Begly Jr., but Kenneth B.
did such a good job he was a perfect fit.

IMO, the actors seem pretty well suited for the characters that they
play. I really couldn't see anyone else playing most of them. Maggie
Smith, Robbie Coltrane, Alan Rickman just perfectly embody their
characters for me. I really hope that they don't recast Daniel
Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint or Tom Felton for any of the films
or I'll be deeply disappointed.
> 4. Albus Dumbledore- Richard Harris; he was perfect for the role. I don't like Michael Gambon's portrayal. I think Ian McKellen would be far more convincing.
> 18. Sirius Black- I think Gary Oldman has done a good job, but I
agree with the others who have pointed out that the character was
supposed to be quite attractive in his youth.

I'm fairly happy with the roles as cast, with the exception of Gambon
as Dumbledore and Oldman as Sirius, who would have been better as
Lupin. I pictured Trelawney as being quite a bit older than Emma
Thompson! (i.e., a contemporary of Maggie Smith).
I'm not familiar enough with British actors to name replacements. The
ones I am familiar with are too well-identified with prior roles
(Patrick Stewart as Dumbledore? )

I was watching the Secret Garden this noon: I've always portrayed
Hermione more like Mary Lennox:

The problem is that she is my age, too old for Hermione, she should be
playing Tonks.

I fail to see a significant deviation from Emma Watson in Mary Lennox,
at least in that picture.
IMO, Hermione (as portrayed right now) is way too attractive, and her
hair isn't nearly bushy enough. Wasn't her hair supposed to be really
bushy?

None of those actually says that Sirius was a ladies' man. The book
says Sirius is handsome and elegant, and probably pleasant when he
was in a good mood. But to be a ladies' man, he would have to have
actually attracted the ladies, and it doesn't say that. It's possible
that he _didn't_ have a girlfriend. There are plenty of handsome
men that are not at all attractive to women because they have nasty
personalities. Yes, many teenage girls tend to be shallow, but
I wonder whether one of the reasons Sirius hung around with James
and the others was that they were the only ones who would put up
with him.
Okay, it's unlikely, but the book doesn't actually say he had any
girlfriends.

From TLC/Mugglenet interview:
"ES: Who is Harry's godmother?
JKR: Didn't have one.
ES: Really?
JKR:Well, Sirius never had time to get a girlfriend, let alone marry."
Many young men I've known at that age, when they started to live alone,
ca't wait to get laid and have a lot of girls. Whatsoever, it seems as
though Sirius was indeed focussed on the war.
Also, I also know a guy who has a very overprotective crazy mum and when
he face the situation of living alone, he said he didn't want a relation
ship because he wasn't escaping one slavery to get himself into another
one.

It looks like girls did like him, unfortunately, the only evidence we
have is that girl we see at the OWLS tests, and 'one' is not enough
evidence. But handsome, popular, funny, smart, rich... I'd fancy him.
(Oh, wait, Don't I fancy him alredy? :) )
> Okay, it's unlikely, but the book doesn't actually say he had any

Whatsoever, the fact that the first person that came to Harry's mind to
ask advice about girls was Sirius is weird. Of course, is more the case
that Harry has no one else to talk about but considering he knew his
godfather spent most of his life away from women is still weird. Sirius
spent alone mostly of the time Harry was at GP, not enough for a decent
'man to man' conversation, although we might never know how close and
personal these were.
