There are few stuff, like two bottles in the mysterious room - which do
nothing, btw. But they are new easter eggs. Check Mugglenet if you are
lazy to search around - as I am lazy to copy them here :P

Actually, they can be dripped into the plant. I imagine some combination
will do something.

On teh Rubbish Bin page, does the tea cup with the tea leaves in the bottom
do anything besides move around in the upper right corner as you drag it?

Has anyone had any luck working out something sensible from the words

Go to the Links area and click on the thin red book on the second shelf,
Ancient Runes Made Easy. It reveals some information on several
different magical creatures.
At the bottom of the Rubbish Bin page are some words on a piece of paper
that can be rearranged. The order is: "Here I am no ring within, tap
five times and you get in." It's a clue for the red box you tap five
times in the Fan Sites section.
The book Ancient Runes Made Easy lists numbers based on animal symbols.
If you look at the Rubbish bin, you can see some of those numbers spread
out across the floor. If you write them down in order, they are
3-1-0-7-1-9-6-5 or 31/07/1965 which is Jo's birthday. Now you have an
early (around 1994) draft of Philosopher's Stone and information that
Draco's surname used to be "Spungen."
First, go into the "Extra Stuff" Section. Turn the radio off, then on
and wait a few seconds. Listen to the announcement telling you to put
six drops of red potion followed by three of the green potion on a
plant. Now, leave and click on the Eraser Portkey on the desktop. It
brings you to the mysterious door. Now, follow the instructions with the
potion on the plant. Now you have another scrapbook piece, revealing
(around the time of Prisoner of Azkaban) genders of teachers and some
attempts for hippogriff names.
Now, go to the Rubbish Bin and move the mug four times in a clockwise
circle. When you do that, stop: it forms a circle inside. Now leave and
go to the Extra Stuff section, click on the card that says "Circle" with
a circle on it. Now you have an original synopsis of Philosopher's Stone.
Next, go the Extra Stuff section. Grab the pen and draw a lightning bolt
on the extra piece of paper. You will get an unrevised portion of Order
of the Phoenix. *
Go to the Fan Sites page. To the right, click on the small red box five
times. It will open. Click the question mark bubble to get the same clue
as the phone-dialing one. An early (around 1994) draft of Philosopher's
Stone and information that Draco's surname used to be "Spungen."
*That doesn't work for me yet...

I'm having trouble understanding JKR's handwriting -can anyone else
kindly type it out pretty please? (it would also benefit Richard the
Blind Typer if he's still around...)

Hey, thanks for the info. I did everything, but like you, the lightening
bolt thing didn't work. Maybe I'm just really bad at drawing with my
mouse. One question, for anyone who knows, on the rubbish bin screen,
what is the thing you click on to leave, and what is that blue and white
thing just above it? (It looks like it has a crest on it)

I had to do the cup twice. The circle (actually the tea leaves beneath
the liquid) is very faint and difficult to see. Try again.

Well, finally got that cup to work. Had to spin it many many times.
After reading the synops, I didn't care fort he book either.
So, Hermione knows all the uses of Dragon's Blood. and clearly V's
failure to kill Harry marked him as an equal.
No, if it'll just accept my lightning bolt.

Don't make it an angled bolt. Straight down, right horizontally, and
then straight down. Like a stair.

I am still around. at least when the people are not working in my room.
And yes I would like it if some one typed out a copy and posted it or sent it

I would also like to see a copy but there's no need for typing, unless
it's a picture. Simple copy and paste from the browser should do the
trick.
I'm a cheapskate who pays by the minute for his slow connection. I can't
picture myself wasting my bandwidth by playing around JKR's website which
takes a very long time to load. I echo your request that someone post such
items. Perhaps someone can point out a web page basket where these easter
eggs have been collected.

If these are like the last set they are grafic files and they woun't be read out
if some one just sends a screen capture of them. As text in grafic are no good at
all to me. And from what I have heard JKR's hand writeing is not the easyest to
read either.
I know of at least two times people where talking about what words they could make
out and what they did not understand.
So I am hopeing that some one likes to type and is good at reading JKR's hand
writeing.

Someone already did that for us. In case nobody mailed you or the web page
Drusilla mentioned is too long for you, here are the three transcripts of
JKR's handwritten items.
......
Chris
......
1) Very early page of Philosopher's Stone
Text: "Very early page of Philosopher's Stone written around 1991 and
showing plot-line that was abandoned. Would have changed everything!"
* Transcript (Brackets [ ] are words that are unclear, but guessable.
Pound signs ### are scratched out areas.):
"So this Flamel bloke found the stone --" said Ron.
"No -- [he] made it," said Harry. "He was [an] alchemist which [means] --
"Someone [who] turns base metals into gold," said Hermione. She [had]
that old proving-[I]-know-more-than-everyone-else look on her face, the
other two noticed, "Of course. I read about [this] in 'Alchemy, Ancient
Art and Science' by #### Argo Pyrites --"
"I missed that one myself," muttered Ron.
"-- of course it's some of the most difficult magic you [can] do.
And you end up not just with pure gold but also with a funny stone [thing] --"
"Which is what I'm on [about]," said Harry, "the Philosopher's Stone, yes.
And it works too. ### It kept Nicholas Flamel [and] [his] wife alive for
about five hundred years."
"What?"
"I know," said Harry. "But it's [true]. He was spotted at the opera in
[Paris] in 1762 and he was born back in 13 something." ###
Ron whistled. #
"But he's dead now?" he asked.
"Of course," said Harry. "Someone stole his stone so he couldn't make
any more Elixir of Life, could he? It takes a while to make another
stone and by that time, I suppose, he was just too old to live without
his Elixir until a new stone was ready. And now I'll tell you something
else really weird that I haven't told you up to now -- the stone
was found in my parents' safe at Gringott's bank."
But instead of the interested noises that Harry had expected, Ron
and Hermione simply stared at him. ######
"What?" said Harry.
Ron cleared his throat, opened his mouth [to] speak but shut it
again.
"What?" Harry said.
"Well, Harry," said Hermione. "I mean ..."
"You mean what?"
He ######## stared at them both as they shuffled their feet and tried
not to look him in the eye.
"You don't think," he said suddenly and ##### angrily, "that my
parents stole the stone?"
"Um ..." said Ron.
"Look," said Harry furiously, "that's like [saying] they
murdered Flamel."
"Oh Harry, we never thought ..."
"Not much, you didn't," said Harry. "I don't know how it
got in there, but the stone wasn't put there by them ..."
"Right," said ##### Ron quickly. "## I'm sure you're right."
"There must be an # obvious explanation," said Hermione.
### Harry wasn't all that convinced that they [meant] it,
but at that moment the bell rang which put an end to the
conversation.
......
2) Draco Manuscript
Text: "Another page very early draft (around 1994) of Philosopher's Stone
- note that Draco's surname used to be 'Spungen'!"
* Transcript (Brackets [ ] are words that are unclear, but guessable.
Pound signs ### are scratched out areas. Question Marks are indecipherable
words.):
large and gloomy dungeon, lined with glass jars. Some held
brilliant, jewel-colored liquids, others, pickled roots and various bits
of ????????.
Harry ### ## changed his mind about Snape. At the
Start of Term Banquet he had got the idea that Snape didn't
like him. ### After the very first Potions lesson he knew he had been
wrong. Snape didn't dislike Harry -- he hated him.
As he called the register at the start of their first lesson,
Snape glanced up to look at each student as they [answered]
"Yes, sir." When Harry answered, Snape's black eyes flashed
and a smile twisted his thin mouth.
"Ah, yes, Potter," he said." Our new -- ah -- celebrity."
Draco Spungen snorted loudly and Harry flushed with
anger. This first year, Gryffindors and Slytherins have Potions together
which gave the Gryffindors the chance to ???? the truth of
what everyone said about
Snape, that he was vicious to everyone [except] members of
his house.
Snape finished taking the [register], and
his black eyes addressed his new students.
"You are here to learn the
subtle science and exact artistry of potion-making.
As there is little foolish wand-waving
here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic.
How very few of you [cloth]-headed young dolts will understand
the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron and its
shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that steal
through human veins, bewitching the body and ensnaring the mind.
I can teach you how to bottle fame and glory, decant
power, stopper death -- but how few of you dunderheads
will be able to learn."
Snape paused and his glittering black eyes ????ed over
[the] class. Noone spoke or moved. Snape was one of those
????????? whose ?????? you didn't break. Hermione Granger, who

3) Quirrell and McGonagall Manuscript
Text: "Another page very early draft (around 1994) of Philosopher's Stone
- note that Draco's surname used to be 'Spungen'!"
* Transcript (Brackets [ ] are words that are unclear, but guessable.
Pound signs ### are scratched out areas. Question Marks are indecipherable
words.):
a fat kind of cactus in the corner of the greenhouse
which moaned in a feeble sort of voice that its
spines were [aching].
Quirrell's classes were a bit of a joke. Everyone was
hoping for gruesome, spine-chilling classes on Dark Magic
but with Quirrell in ?????? they couldn't somehow get in
######## the right mood. This classroom smelled strongly of
garlic. The story went that ever since a narrow escape
from a vampire in Rumania Quirrell had lived in fear
that it would come and get him. He seemed almost as
frightened of his students as the trolls, werewolves
and [hags] he was teaching them about; Seamus
Finnigan and Dean Thomas had a bet on to see how
long Quirrell would stutter over a single word in each
lesson.
Madam McGonagall, who taught transfiguration,
was as different from Quirrell as it was possible to be.
She was very strict and allowed no messing about.
"Transfiguration is one of the most difficult and
dangerous kinds of magic," she told them in their [first]
lesson. "Anyone playing the fool will leave my class
and not come back." ## ##### ### ## ##
Then she demonstrated how to turn a desk into
a pig and back again. They were all ### very impressed.
As Percy Weasley had predicted, however, she gave them
a single match and told them they would first be
learning how to turn them into needles. It really was
horribly diffuclt. After two lessons only Hermione Granger
had managed to make any difference in her match.
Madam McGonagall showed the class how Hermione's
match had gone pointed and silvery, and Hermione
beamed at the praise.
And then there was Snape, who taught potions

Good catch, and a perfect example of why I always read your postings with
a certain anticipation. You often hear and connect things that my lying
eyes and brain miss. There's a French saying that goes "In the realm of
the blind, the one-eyed are king". In our case, I picture myself as being
deaf and you having one ear. But don't let it go to your head. The ear is
dyslexic!

I certainly hope that JKR doesn't think that she can placate and pacify us
with her waste paper basket until she releases Book Seven in 2010.

Glad if I was of help. And thanks to Dru as well.

Good call on the quote! I think the translation is, "Dans le royaume

It's handwriting, so it would be a picture.

The site is very quick if you access the text-only version.

Yes please, me too. Somebody posted a URL, and the site had the snippets
from earlier drafts which have been quoted here. But it also says really
annoying throwaways like "a list of genders of Hogwarts teachers" without
actually detailing the information. Rowling should put such factoids into
her text-only version for those who don't wish to play little games.
Meanwhile, does anyone have the gender list, and other such goodies?
