A new dragon enters your ranks... [message #229362] Mo, 13 März 2006 08:17
Darkov the Scholar
My name is Darkov, and I have studied dragons and dragonkind for
several years. As a child I was fascinated by these majestic creatures.
Where did they originate? What did they look like? Were they friend or
foe? Do they still exist?
My interest has carried over into my lifestyle, and I now practice
meditation, astrology, martial arts, and other arts to help me find
truth. If I were a dragon, I would see myself as a grey, as this
typically represents knowledge and humility.
I am a heavy gamer, and am quite young (I will not disclose this my
age... yet). I also read alot, such as Eragon, Dragonriders of Pern,
The Sword of Truth, The Magician, and other fantasy epics.
I found this group through the Wikipedia, and I am intrigued at what
the rest of the group believes about dragonkind, how it's affected
them, and what the customs are.

Darkov.

Welcome!

So, you found us through Wikipedia, eh? What do you think about it? (I
wrote the article)

As for my beliefs, well all I know for certain is that I've always
wanted to be one. I generally see myself as being kind of a dark green
color; I don't know what it could mean (if anything) but it seems
*right*, more right than any other color.

I ended up finding the article because it must be the only place in the
universe to link to one of my pictures on Elfwood. I was a little surprised.

That's not a very constructive 'what do you think?' by it's too early in the
day for philosophy. :-P

The Wikipedia entry was informative, to say the least. It was simple
but detailed.
The colour of dragon one finds themself depicted as in their mind is
often reflective of their personality and traits.
The draconic colour green often means that the associated person,
"avatar" if you will, typically is gentle, helpful, but not without
limits. Their temper if kept in check whenever possible, but will bite
if provoked. Green also means that the avatar is connected to Gaia (the
Earth Mother), and enjoys nature much.
Are you an elemental dragon? More information can often be derived from
the elemental power they wield.
Also, if you see yourself as a dark colour, it may mean that you tend
to brood upon negativity in private, often pondering fate and the
problems that it has brung.

That's an interesting way of looking at dragon color. Hiya, I'm
Dreamseeker. Nice to meetcha! I'm also a gamer and bookworm, or
book-wyrm, as I like to say. My dragon form, whether or not it exists
anywhere other than my own imagination, used to be green, and your
description was very accurate for my more innocent personality. As I
matured, though, my scales slowly changed to gold. How would you
describe gold? ^_^

A surprisingly accurate description. The one difference I see, and it
is a small one, is that I tend more to think about fate and what it
*could have* brought, but didn't.
I was in a bike/car accident last week, and walked away from it
laughing, with barely a scratch one me; the fear didn't come until a
few hours later, when I actually sat down and thought about it.

I wouldn't say I'm an elemental dragon. I can breathe fire, but I
hardly ever use it, and when I do I prefer to use it as a tool rather
than a weapon.

Truth is what we perceive it to be in our heart. I also study the martial
arts and see myself as black and silver. Slighty wicked with a dose of
mirth for balance.

Gold dragons are often very wise and sensible. They accept
responsibility readily, and carry out their tasks with heart that many
others admire.
Just because you are sensible doesn't mean you have lost your sense of
humor, though you most likely appreciate intelligent jokes than getting
a kick out of silliness.
Sometimes you are known to snap out at people who are distruptive or
generally annoy you.

Quit prodding me.
Silver dragons are loyal and protective to all those they care about.
They will often stay close by a loved one, just for the sake of being
in their presence. Silver dragons will gladly fight, either physically
or diplomatically, for the wellbeing of their friends. Sometimes these
acts of loyalty prove more harm than good, though the Silver dragon may
not realise it at the time.

I have always loved dragons, and see myself with bright emerald green
scales. What would that be?

I also draw a cartoon, with (coincidentally *cough cough*) a dragon as
the main character.

I believe it's ironic, then, that I would describe myself in much the
same way, and that my colouration is rather similar.

Something to think about, at least.

Emerald usually matches the description of the greemn, and as stated
before, the green, is
"Gentle and helpful, but not without limits. They sometimes lose their
temper, but try to keep it in check whenever possible. Greens also have
a connection to Gaia, and enjoy nature."
The bright hue on your scales most likely means that you are currently
happy in life, with no real desire to improve what you already have.
Essentially, life is smooth. Keep it up.

Well, I'll almost guarantee you'll be wrong about me and what black dragons
stand for..... Since as far as I know, I fit none of the descriptions or
emotions that fit the colour black.

Not intended as one, but please, let me know what you feel black dragons

Strangely enough, that has relevance in my life. Had I seen this two weeks

Black dragons are... well gee, I'll need some time to think...
....
Black dragons are often dominant in their enviroment, though they are
not neccesarily evil. They enjoy inspiring awe, sometimes even fear in
others. Black dragons often also have a wicked sense of humour, and
enjoy scaring people, or otherwise making them uncomfortable for a
laugh.
Thats all I can sense for now.
