Time for a long-standing zany tradition - poetry!
Ok everybody, make a poem (and post it - doesn't count if you don't
share!) using the following words, selected as I'm posting this:
red
hobbit
caramel
petunia
war
novel
And remember - use all the words! ^_^

Scott,

Okay... try this on for size! *cringes* Some of the rhyming is awful!
The red sky glistens as hobbits listen
To tales of beasts proud and fair.
Stories of war that were fought before
Their birth drift through the air.
Of dragons great with honor strong
That live in lands far and free.
To strange creatures with peculiar features
Who live beneath a caramel sea.
And of lads who sing as a gift to the King
About a young Elven princess named Luna
Who sits in the breeze, beneath ancient trees
And smells delicately of petunia.
And what a novel idea it would be
To gather around a chestnut tree
And listen to tales of old.
To many or few, teach them anew
For a lost tale shall never be told.
Poetic Pegasus

Oooh - and you even used "novel" in precisely the way I was hoping to
see, straight off!
A Ponder Point is awarded (with much fanfare and silliness) to Pegasus!

*courtseys and accepts Ponder Point with even more silliness than originally
planned*
I will love it and hug it and keep it and it will be my Squishy! That was
fun. I think random poetry should be a regular event!

Ah, the DPS -- it's been too long!

Okay. Petunia is a tricky word to fit into a rhythmic system, so I
believe free verse would be best on this occasion.
....
Well, I ended up not spending very long on this, so apologies for the
quality in advance. <:) I shall call it 'Before the Scouring'.
Red is the colour of the Shire's wide sky
As smoke from Sharkey's chimneys tears blood from the sun.
The Ring War is over, but we hobbits are yet not free
To laugh, to drink, to tend our homes and lands;
There are no roses or petunias in our flowerbeds,
For the caramel-coloured ooze from those mills
Seeps poisonously into the soil.
Only those four cowards who fled last year
Have escaped this dreadful fate.
O! What a novel homecoming they shall face.
