Eon have really messed this up. This is a potential *absolute
disaster* in the making. And the PR handling of Brosnan's removal
*was* a disaster - PERIOD. Even if you don't like Brosnan's Bond or his
Bond films, the guy was in negotiations with Eon to appear in a fifth
film and then told over the phone that he's out. Eon never even invited
him to their office. Incredible. The guy was a big hit with people and
the producers tell him over the phone and never speak to him again!

What's that got to do with what I posted? I was saying close to 10,000
people don't want Craig. I wasn't saying I don't want him (but I don't
hee hee).
Eon has failed the marketing game. They let Brosnan go in a terrible
way, they never thanked him for his contribution (which is the least
they could have done) Craig was never wanted by the public yet Barbara
Broccoli ignored every poll and Bond forum which clearly showed no-one
but a tiny minority wanted Craig, and now they're paying the price.
It's unlikely CR will be a moderate to big hit (the media is having a
field day criticising Craig) and if the franchise goes under it's
Barbara Broccoli, Michael Wilson and Amy Pascal's fault. They're living
in some fantasy world where Craig is wanted, where James 'Bourne' Bond
is wanted, where people want Judi Dench in a Bond Begins film. Sorry,
but that's not the reality and that petition proves it.:(

The only check Petitions Online run is to ensure that there are no
duplicate names or e-mail addresses listed. The number of times you
can sign the petition is limited only by the number of false names and
e-mail addresses you can think up. It's an open invitation to fraud
and makes the whole process worthless. (Petitions Online do offer an
ever-so-slightly more thorough check for a fee, but that's not at all
foolproof either. Anyway, how many people will pay knowing that
it'll most likely reveal that they haven't got nearly as much
support for their cause as they'd hoped?)
.... and if you're wondering what sort of crazy person would waste the
time and energy to do such a thing, you either not been here long, or
if you have, then you haven't been paying much attention.

La la la Human Fruitcake (aka Scojo, etc...) is just s troll. Ignore him.
Everybody else does. He's easy to spot in his new guises. He starts threads
with ludicrous premises, and then often feeds the thread using new names to
divert your attention. He's a joke whose welcome wore out ages ago. He
plagues other newsgroups too, but over here he takes a particular
sociopathic glee in baiting the group incessantly.
It's all part of the fun and magic that is AFJB. Scojo-spotting wins you
club points and prestige. The trick is to plonk his new identities without
reading more than one or two of his punk posts, and then ignore everything
connected to that poster. I'm giving up series cred just posting this.
