Filmmaker Lee Tamahori has been sentenced to three years' probation and
ordered to help clean up Hollywood after he was arrested in drag during
a prostitution swoop.
Tamahori, 55, who directed Once Were Warriors, Mulholland Falls and the
James Bond film Die Another Day, was arrested in Hollywood on January
8=2E
He allegedly entered an undercover policeman's car while clad in
women's clothes and offered to perform a sex act for money, according
to Los Angeles police.
However, under a plea deal, Tamahori pleaded no contest to a charge of
criminal trespass in return for prosecutors dropping charges of
prostitution and loitering.
Tamahori, who was not in court for the hearing in Los Angeles, was
placed on 36 months' probation and ordered to perform 15 days of
community service for the Hollywood Beautification Project.

I think those last three words are priceless given the reason that he
was arrested...

(Thinking that the whole thing is very, very silly. Who, after all,
has been hurt? But that's another discussion for another forum.)

Holy shit! Three years probation for misdemeanor trespassing??? Here
in TN, we have something called pre-trial diversion for people with a
clean record. One wonders whether he had a previous history, given the
lengthy probation.
