Latest Bond movie
Daniel Craig keeps secrecy on new Bond
02/21/2006
Casino Royale is the forging of Bond, it's really how Bond is forged to
become the James Bond that he becomes in the other movies, director
Martin Campbell said.
Daniel Craig and Dame Judy Dench and producers were on call in Prague
for a press conference about the production of the latest Bond movie
'Casino Royale'
When asked about how he approached his part the actor told the press:
"It's a very difficult question to answer, I don't really approach
acting in that way, I don't look for strengths in a character, I look
at a character as a whole and I look at how to tell the story. And
we're very lucky to have a fantastic script that we're working on here;
and he is Bond, I can't take anything away from that. What I put into
it hopefully you will see once I've completed the job but I can't be
more specific than that because it's a continual process as I said and
my strengths, well it's kind of up to the audience to decide what those
are really, I don't enforce those feelings on the audience, that's not
my job."
Speculation has been rife as to the identity of the latest Bond Girl.
Surprisingly little-known French actress Eva Green has been chosen as
the next femme fatale to pair up with British agent 007.
Danish-born actor Mads Mikkelsen has signed on to play Bond's
villainous nemesis Le Chiffre. American actor Jeffrey Wright, who
co-starred in "Syriana," has joined the "Casino Royale" cast as
undercover CIA agent Felix Leiter.
Production on the 21st movie in the multibillion-dollar Bond film
franchise that began with "Dr. No" in 1962, started on January 21 in
Prague, and the movie is slated for release in November.
The company is expected to spend 300 Milllion Chech Koruna in the city,
the second most popular location for film shoots after London at the
moment . Other production locations will include the Bahamas, Italy and
Britain.
The film, directed by Martin Campbell, is being adapted from the 1953
Ian Fleming novel that introduced the Bond character.
The director gave a glimpse of what the audience can expect from '
Casino Royale ': "How is it different? Well first of all it's Casino
Royale, which is the first book, and secondly it's the forging of Bond,
it's really how Bond is forged to become the James Bond that he becomes
in the other movies. If you're read the book, I don't know whether
you've read it, you should read it because we stick fairly close to it.
It was written in 1953, it was the first of the Fleming books."
Craig, the latest actor to fill the tuxedo of the British spy with a
license to kill, was named in October to assume the role from Pierce
Brosnan, who starred in the last four Bond movies. The most recent
film, 2002's "Die Another Day," which paired Brosnan with actress Halle
Berry, grossed more than $425 million in worldwide ticket sales.

LOL! 'Surprisingly little-known' as opposed to how many other Bond
girls?
Best
