Why would the Fruit Punch Advisory Board give her bad advice?

As someone watching the show in the UK, what on earth are 'pixie sticks'
anyway?

they're candy, in the form of flavoured sugar in a straw.

Nasty, nasty candy. Straws filled with powdered sugar, citric acid and
artificial fruit flavoring. I think in the UK they have something called
"magic sticks" which are similar. Like eating Jello (jelly) straight as it
comes out of the box. It's pretty much a "candy of last resort," sort of
like those nauseating dense marshmallow bananas.

This is possibly the best spelling I've ever seen of Homer's noise.
