Yeah, very pathetic from the (near-failure) Fox network. I hope their ad
revenue gauging goes deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep into the toilet because of
this. They deserve it.

Well, there's the little matter of something going on in Italy called THE
OLYMPIC GAMES!

While I do not personally follow The Olympics, I can fully understand how
every network who lost the bid to air The Olympics would do no new
programming since "the numbers" (ratings) would be atrocious, thereby
scaring the advertisers and killing their profits.

That's also why networks show rerun crap (except those networks who won the
rights to air) during The Academy Awards, The Golden Globes, The Emmy's, The
Country Music Awards, etc. etc.

While only 60% of the public may care about such "special programming", the
networks feel that while those 60% are watching The Olympics it's not worth
it to hope to gather a percentage of the remaining 40% (split across the
remaining 4 networks), so they may only get 10% viewership as opposed to
25%-40%. It's just not cost effective.

I hate it as much as you, though.

You would think the highest Sunday ratings would be for the closing
ceremonies, yet that is the one Sunday during the Olympics when Fox is
airing new episodes (well, except for FG).

(Also, next Sunday night is the NBA All-Star Game.)
