Of course, this is a meaningless statement, since reprising her role was
never an option....
The producers had decided to move on.
"The only modern Moneypenny", what in the world does that mean?
There's only been three Moneypennys, right? the one from the
Connery-Lazenby-Moore era, the one from the Timothy Dalton films, and this
one, Samantha Bond (always wondered if her last name helped her get the
part!)
(If someone is about to bring up a Moneypenny from the original CASINO
ROYALE, don't bother! That isn't a Bond film!).
So, "the only modern Moneypenny" would seem to be "not the one in the
Timothy Dalton films."
When did her character kiss Pierce Brosnan? I don't recall that in any of
the films.

She didn't, or rather she didn't in reality. It was part of the
regrettable VR fantasy sequence at the end of DAD.
