Star Wars prequels or The Matrix sequels?
I love the prequels, The Matrix sequels ruined the whole thing for me...

Liked Reloaded, but not Revolutions.
Liked AOTC and ROTS, but didn't not like TPM... just didn't like it as much
as the others.

The Matrix sequels. They were too confusing and left more questions than
answers.

Never saw a Matrix movie. Didn't look the least bit interesting and the FX
seemed lame.

I had no hope for the SW prequels after seeing TPM in the theater.
However, the first Matrix movie was cheesy but very enjoyable cinema
sillines. The thing that killed the sequels was that all of a sudden the
Wachowski brothers starting taking everything so seriously. As a result,
the sequels became arrogant, boring, and unbelievable pointless. For
example, the scene where Neo fights all the Agent Smith clones in the
courtyard. Hey dumbass, if you can fly, why stick around and fight for 10
minutes?!
Oh yeah, because they thought it would look cool. *yawn* Hey, come to
think of it, maybe Lucas and the Wachowski brothers hang out together?

Oooof that's a tough one. Both ruined their respective franchises. But the
matrix sequels were much much more terrible to watch than the Star Wars
prequels so it's hard to say. Star Wars prequels sucked pretty bad though,
and did ruin my favorite franchise, so i guess the prequels will win this
contest, even though the Matrix sequels were pretty fucking shitty.

Matrix hands down. I left confused and disapointed. At least with SW I
was just disapointed.

I only went to see the original Matrix b/c the TPM trailer ran before it. I
hated that movie and my wife dragged me to see the incredibly lame sequel.
Luckily, I got out of having to endure the third one. As far as the
prequels, I took TPM with a grain of salt, thought AOTC had its moments, and
really liked ROTS. There's no contest for me between the two franchises.

I've never seen any of the Matrix movies. So there.
As for the prequels - hell, I'd already been saturated with all the EU
novels and I was well aware that Lucas had put out a lot of turkeys since SW
so it's not like I went in expecting the second coming of cinema.
I didn't think TPM was great cinema but it didn't mortally offend me either
and I thought the bashing was overdone, though the movie does have some
pretty aggravating flaws.
AotC, had a lot of "moments" - surprisingly fun despite the supposed core of
the story (the romance) being botched so badly. Having said that, the glow
wore off eventually and this ep hasn't aged well at all.
RotS, I'd easily put up against any of the OT (and well above at least one
of them) and it's aged very well so far.

i kinda liked menace a little.. maybe a little more every time i get
around to watching it.. just interesting seeing what the jedi and the
republic were like before it all went to shit.
AOTC just drivels on and on and on.. I think I like it less with every
viewing, allthough the last half hour is its best half hour.
ROTS is good, probabably the best of the three, but i guess I was let
down by how anakin fell, I just thought it was lame, that he couldn't
grasp the fact a Sith would lie and betray him.. had the Jedi taught him
nothing.
all that being said, they were still better then the matrix prequels.
What kinda load of crap were those, and why did they need to spread it
over two more views. The first one is so good, then they totally
dropped the ball :(
I think prequels aren't a good idea because they are too constrained by
continuity, and people already know the major plots and whats going to
happen, but blowing a sequel like the matrix, that was even worse.

He did know - he was only going along with the Chancellor because he could
hardly expect any mercy from the Jedi at this point. His plan was to betray
the Chancellor and overthrow him after the Jedi were taken care of.
That insincere-sound "I will do whatever you ask...", "I pledge myself to
your teachings..." - for once, that wasn't just HC's bad acting although
it's admittedly hard to tell sometimes. Skywalker knew that the Chancellor
had betrayed him but it wasn't convenient to take his revenge then, at least
until he was sure there was no hope of wringing the secret of immortality
out of the Chancellor. And then, there came that annoying little business of
getting his limbs chopped off and being burned to a crisp - being weakened
that way set his plans back big time.

ROTS was best of the three, Matrix was the best of it's three. Sort of
the reverse of each other. The Reloaded took a freakin' hour to
actually get going with some action, then it was like, oh ok, now it's
not bad. But the first hour, ugh, what a damn bore. Didn't see the
last one as it sounded as if it had gone further downhill with that one
too.

Not to sound like uber-dork, but those who don't believe in Anakin's fall in
Sith have never been in love...
and probably, like Triumph says, the last time they had contact with female
genitalia was at birth...

Matrix is too superhero/comic bookish. If I wanna read superman, i will
get the comics. I m not too into cyberpunk/vr crap, anyway. Star wars
ANYTHING is preferable. We are, of course, waiting for the animated
series: "The Life And Times of Jar Jar Binks"

I liked both, though I felt neither lived up to their respective
predecessor. I'd say that because we waited so long, the
disappointment was worse for SW.

I really do like the Matrix movies.... the first being the best, And
Revolutions was excellent. IMO.
But nothing tops Star Wars....as far as I'm concerned.
