Dickie Dean Anderson should at least be put out of our misery, if not
the actual show. Maybe, like BSG, it is time for a "reimagining".

Hell-loooooooo? RDA is gone. He's been replaced by Farscape's
Chrichton.

I don't get scifi channel, so I don't see the latest eps. LOL on RDA
being replaced by Creighton. Funny joke, They ought to replace RDA with
Kryton from Red Dwarf.

If Ben Bowder does go to SG1, it brings up a question. Is he blakclisted
in Hollwood, or something? I mean, going from Down Under to the Great
White North and bypassing Tinsel Town. Yes, indeed, one must wonder.

??? Hollywood is in America. Nothing is actually made in America any
more, it is all done offshore and just distributed by American
companies with an American label. They haven't actually produced
television shows or movies in Hollywood for years.

If such a thing is true, I am not surprised. They've outsourced
everything else out of america. Manufacturing, info jobs, etc. Why not
pictures, too?

"Brokeback Mountain" - filmed in Canada
LOTR - filmed in New Zealand
Smallville \
SG-1 - produced in Vancouver, BC
SGA /
Battlestar Galactica is being filmed in Vancouver.
And, of course, The X-Files were produced in Vancouver also.

Hollywood started to empty out with the Clint Eastwood spaghetti
westerns almost 40 years ago, but the process has really accelerated.
The only thing being made in Hollywood any more is B grade sound stage
stuff.

Not true, only the cheap cable series are shot in small dollar Canada
instead of big buck LA

He didn't bypass LaLaLand; I remember him in a "CSI: Miami" last year.
I expect that like Black, he's going where the work is.

I believe she will be a series regular on Stargate SG-1 next season.

You mean Claudia Black? She is an Aussie, born and bred, so it's not a
case of her "going Down Under" to find work on Farscape - the work found
her.

Cheers,

Like "Brokeback Mountain"? How many Oscar nominations did it get?

OTOH, NBC shoots "Scrubs" in Hollywood. There's a big budget network
production for you.

Stargate, ironically - IIRC, she's going to be a regular star next
season, and is back for a few more eps this season.

I think that he may have been referring to her guest starring role on a
recent (syndicated) episode of SG1

I thought I was talking TV series.

Where the Canadian content of cable shows really is MUCH higher than the
Canadian content of broadcast network shows.

The Star Wars Prequels - made in Fox Studios, Sydney Australia (Ep II & III)
and Leavesden Studios, England and on location in Italy etc.

Even the original trilogy was made at Leavesden or Pinewood (one or the two)
studios in England. Were *any* of those made at 20th Century Fox, Hollywood
in 1977, 1982, 1986?
