* Sounds of much sawing of wood and pounding of iron upon stone can be heard
for weeks, ensuing from the inside of a nearby golf bag... it's a rather
large golf bag. With a hiss and a billow of steam, a hatch in the top of the
bag opens, and an excited Sentienl pops out, having finished his latest
greatest achievement.*
HAHA! My tower plans are complete (cuz every good wizard needs a tower.)
Yes! It will be the one place where I can conduct my experiments in alchemy
and all kinds of arcany-type stuff!
* He holds up what looks like a six inch mini of a tower *
And this is it... er, well, it will be, only larger... ten times the size,
only in feet... which would make it-uh- (mumblemumblemumble... carry the
foooour...mumblemumblemumble)... 42?!? Noononononono, that can't be
right...
(Chef whispers: 60 feet)
Like I said, about 60 feet...
(Chef: Tall)
Right, 60 feet tall... are you sure?
(Chef: yes)
Right! And I'll build it right overrrrr... um...
(Chef: A peanut butter jar?)
Right over a peanut bu-- oh, that's absurd! Get back down there and finish
making the soup, will you? I'll need to use /something/ to clear the land
down to the bedrock, you know. And use the /stone/ bowl this time, please.
Last time you used a steel pot, it melted and flowed into the Sea of Sarcasm
and almost caused an apocolypse in the process... nearly blew the Golf Bag
to the moon...
(Chef: Burmuda was nice, though.)
Yes, it was... very--hey, will you, please? ... thank you.
Hmmm.... the site just has to be the right one, you know. Figuring in ley
lines and nexii and areas of natural flow of power, that sort of thing...
but nothing rubber, too insulating, you know. And, of course, the landing
strip will use up plenty of space, not to mention the hele-pad... and at
least one good phone line with high speed capability.
(Kicking a release, the very large golf bag extends a set of wheels and a
handle. Sentinel begins pushing the whole affair around like an over-sized
shopping cart, shuffling off on his merry way.)

Ohh *shiny* tower...
It better not get in my flight path, though. But then again, I've never
mentioned flying before here have I? So hmmm... to fly, or not to fly? Tell
me if you ever need some penguins for minions... they're particularly good
for that!

If the the tower sinks then one has the base for a new tower. If this
second tower should burn down and then sink again rebuild again. A wizard
should have a plan you know!

Near caverns? Heavens no. Do you have any idea what lives in caverns?
Bats! And bugs and crawly things that ooze-- but I digress. No, building
near caverns also has its geological faults, you see.
We must be very scientific in our approach, even though caverns would be an
ideal place to collect the samples, various and sundry, that would aid in
the casting of arcany, uh, thingies...
(Chef from inside the bag: Spells)
Right! Spells! That reminds me, chef, remind me later to get a proper spell

Well, that's just silly, isn't it. Building a tower in the middle of a
swamp... really. Nothing but skeeters and other biting things in a swamp...
and the smell, my gawds, would /you/ live in a place that smells like a
sewer? And where, pray tell, would I build my mote?

Ye gawds! Scribe! Boy! Did you mark that occurrence?
(Scribe, poking his head out the top of the bag: Sir?)
That occurrence of deja vu, did you mark it?
(Scribe: Yes, sir.)
Right! Not building on this spot since there are magical repetative
anomalies that might lead to explosive inverted arcane spacial harmonics
that could produce a never ending ground hog day effect, and might even
depolarize the whatchamadoodle!
(Scribe: "Whatchamadoodle," sir?)
(Chef: You know, that thing attched to the doohicky?)
(Scribe: oh, yeah... )
Right... Big Tracts of Land it is, then.
(Chef and Scribe: Right, sir!)

Aye, I know what lives in caverns... I do...
Don't know what caverns you've been hanging around, but there's nothing
creepy, crawly, or oozy about mine... aside from some that visit on
occasion, but they rarely stay very long.
Mine are nicely appointed and quite pleasant... I just don't want any
"experiments" stinking the area up.

Well, yes, the model does give that impression... it's made of white
limestone, you see. Makes everything look like shining silver at a
distance. The actual tower will look very similar.

Right! Chef! Remind our drooling Scribe to make room for air traffic
lights... it wouldn't do to have our clientel bashing into the tower on
their approach to the airfield.
(Chef: Will do... um, Chief? I think it's the fumes from the soup getting
to him.)
(That, or he had your lunch special.)
(Chef: What?)
I said, I think it's be best to leave hiim where he can get some air.
(Chef: Will do.)

Um, Chef? I meant for you to leave him where he was, not to heave him out
on the ground.
Up you get then, lad. Is everything good? Will you be all right?

Sounds like a brilliant idea... especially concerning my current minions.
Ah, but they work for peanuts.

Ye Gawds! Do you know what that means! That means I'll have to look for
specimens elsewhere...
Not to worry, though, you wouldn't notice any stinky experiments... not if
my valet, Stench, has anything to do with it. He's got two noses, so he can
really smell (he says he's breaking one in for a friend). I recently
promoted him from "bellboy" from the Hairy Arms Hotel and Resort overlooking
the Sea of Sarcasm.
No, I think a nice area around the Dragon University (but not too close)
might be just what the Wizard ordered.

I see. I also have two sets of eyelids, one of which I use when I fly, and
when I forget to lift it, everything looks *shiny* to me... it's a good
thing, really.

Should I muster some up then? You can even teach them to do

Um... just inquiring into exactly what you intend to do in this tower of

Ah, but that's what the peanut butter in the mote is for. They don't sink,
they just stick around, judging by the way peanut butter sticks to the roof
of one's mouth.

I will wait to have them mustard until I have a chance to ketchup on the

Well, uh, eating, sleeping, arcany stuff (that's all classified)

No, but you may find many of my servants are just turning themselves into a
bunch of marshmallows, and loafing about when they're not trying to butter
me up, especially when they find themselves in a jam. You can tell when
they're really in the stew when they start sugar coating the facts.

I have 3. One that's transparent so I can see underwater and the like,
although sadly not filtered so I can't see /well/ under water, unless I'm
right at the edge of it..... The second is transparent from the inside
but opaque from the outside, and looks like my eyes are closed but I can
still see fine, which I use for hunting at night, as glowing red eyes
make it difficult to hide in the dark otherwise..... The third are
regular eyelids that I use when sleeping.

Well, we can now cure all known poisons, all unknown poisons, deadly darts,
and noxious gasses..... Unfortunately, we're ony able to cure 41.75 stab
wounds, so you take your chances that the remaining quarter of a stab wound
is fatal, which is usually the case.....

Oh, hang it all... I came up one stab wound short on my cureall... sigh. :oÞ
Oh well, at least it is the only known cureall to effect silicon-based
viruses/ bacteria/ toxins. That, and it's also garanteed to regrow hair--
(Chef: On your tongue)
Oh, you say that just because it made you go completely bald, but you're the
exception. How was I supposed to know it would have that effect on an
abominable snowman.
(Chef: I'm cold.)
O.o Have some soup.
(Chef: Oh, that's just mean)
