Everyone has their list of Bond films that they shouldn't like, because they
know it's not really a good Bond film. Despite that, we all have our guilty
pleasures. Name 3 guilty pleasures, and why ?
My three:
DAF - I love Vegas, Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd, and love looking at Jill St.
John. And I did love Connery's one-liners in this one....the Plenty O'Toole
stuff, for example.
MR - Beneath all the over-the-top action scenes there is a pretty good movie
there. I thought Moore looked the best of all his films, Bond-wise. I liked
the dobermans, lol.....and I liked Chang, even though he was a ridiculous
stereotype.
Octopussy - I thought Moore gave a very good performance. I liked the twin
brothers. I liked the whole Faberge' egg thing, and I enjoyed seeing Moore
dressed up like a clown ;-) I think it was filmed in India, which made me
feel very hot while I watched the movie. And not that way, lol - I like hot
climates !!!

--- I think you hit it on the nail with each of them, those would be my
three picks. Though I could do without Moore in the clown suit -
that's just SO not Bond.

I suppose my guilty pleasure is "The Man with the Golden Gun." Maybe
the song isn't well respected, but I dig the sound and the energy (I'm
one of, like, eight people worldwide who like it better than "Live and
Let Die").
I love Christopher Lee, fake third nipple and all.
It may be easy to knock on Britt Ekland, but the scene where Roger's
Bond starts off in bed with her and then stuffs her in a closet
overnight to take Maud Adams to bed, only to then wake Britt and expect
her to come *back* to bed with him...Morally revolting, yet as a guy, I
tip my hat 'cause he gets away with it!
And, yes, I absolutely adore the return of J.W. Pepper. "I shore [sic]
am, boy!" may well be my favorite line Roger has in all seven of his
films.
Still not sure just how it is that Bond was dropped off at the dojo,
though...

YOLT: I like the energy of the first hour or so. After that Connery's
makeup as a Japanese fisherman is a hoot.
DAF: Connery looks and dresses like my grandfather did at that time
(except for the tux). There's a plot that makes absolutely no sense.
But I love the mood of the thing: One last big party with Connery.
NSNA: Slow. Horrible music. Bad fashion. Video games that make Pong
look hi-tech. But great acting and a couple of funny scenes.
Jeez, you know outside of the first three or four they're ALL kinda'
guilty pleasures. There's stuff I love AND hate in ALL of them. (But a
few that I hate a LOT).
