No he didn't. Let's lay this one to rest, shall we? It's (a) a
misquote, or rather the Daily Mirror's deliberate distortion of a quote
unrelated to CR, and (b) taken completely out of context: to paraphrase
the interview, what he actually said was that while he wanted to do the
best work he could, he was not averse to making money either, and from
the tone of the rest of the interview it was also clearly said with in
a half-joking way.

I know I should never trust entertainment reporters :)
That was how it was presented in the paper i was reading here in
Australia.
