SPOILER AHEAD
The only thing I'm really hoping for from this film is that they keep
the ending the same as the book.
If they want to reinvent Bond for a new era, the audience HAS to leave
the theater with a shiver down their spine.
But if its the same dreary old ending on a boat or similar with MI-6
being "shocked" at Bond shagging his latest conquest, its game over for
me with the franchise.
The Bond books rarely had the endings we have in the films
Casino Royale- "The bitch is dead" Please!
Live and Let Die - In the water after the keelhauling with Bond badly
cut up.
Moonraker - "He's my fiancee"
Diamonds Are Forever - HAPPY ENDING - Bond off to UK with Tiffany in a
cruiser.
>From Russia With Love - Bond "dies"
Doctor No - I can't recall this one. A sign I need to read the books
again.
Goldfinger - I can't recall this one either. Damm!
For Your Eyes Only - Doesn't count. Short stories.
Thunderball - Bond and Domino in hospital
The Spy who loved me - Bond disappears as quickly as he appears.
OHMSS - "We've got all the time in the world"
You Only Live Twice - Bond loses his memory and off to Russia
The Man With The Golden Gun - Hmm! Memory's lacking there too.
But there is a whole plethora of fabulous scenes in the books that have
never been used. Not just the endings.
