Star Trek vs. Star Wars....BLAH BLAH BLAH. 2 completely different entities.
I don't compare them. I regard them both based on their own benefits. So
what if they are in the same genre (loosely)? It's like comparing John
Lennon to Paul McCartney. Sure, they were in the same group, but they wrote
vastly different material. Some people like John's music, some people like
Paul's and some people like both.
I like both Star Trek and Star Wars (and I own most of the DVD's) and I like
both John and Paul, and I own most of their CD's.
The argument is pointless.

I'm not sure about "Cyclons" ;-)
but Cylons are robots / androids built by a race of lizardmen ... at
least they were in the original Battlestar Galactica. As usual the
silly "remake" has butchered the original and changed most of it. :-(

And some prefer George or Ringo's solo material . Or both.

Actually, Star Trek is more of a comprehensive outlook to at least some
idea of what the future may look like.
Of course, the stories are just that. (Stories)
What I'm talking about here, is their technology.
The technological advances can already be seen today.
They are at a much smaller scale, but they are evolving slowly.
http://science.howstuffworks.com/antimatter.htm
This [at] least is the start.
They say some of those speeds are not possible, but who knows.
In 200 Years or more, we could end up going up to speeds that to day
don't seem possible.
It's not possible to do, but try going back in time to say, the 1600s
and telling someone we would be able to travel faster then the speed
of sound by sometime in the 1900s
They would probably laugh in your face.
Or just think you were crazy.
Star Trek is nothing like Star Wars for that reason.
Star Trek is one persons vision of what the future might look like.
Star Wars is just a fantasy world thought up by George Lucas
Now, forget about this Star Wars vs Star Trek, even though
it's something I've posted on here before too.
And since that it is a fantasy world, all weapons on Star Wars
can be stronger then anything on Star Trek..
I'd say more, but I have to go to work....
Denny.
