I've read the FAQ-part about "the force", but that doesn't work for me.
I think the force is more.
I read there was some kind of cult built around the force in real life. I'm
interested in that kind of things.

Maybe "the force" is the best descripton for non-religious spiritual
experiences in daily life.

Any decent reading about people who actually thought about the concept of
"the force"?

Can you please explain the expression "non-religious spiritual"?

A cult??

There are some people who stupidly put "Jedi" as their religion on
census forms. Most of them simply think it's funny to do that, but
there are some people who follow the Jedi code, but actually using the
Force isn't possible. I vaguely remember a news story some while back
about a Jedi school being set-up in somewhere like Italy. (There's also
some people who follow a "Church of Spongebob Squarepants".)

Well, whether you believe in nonsense like ESP, spoonbenders,
contacting the dead, etc., etc. is up to you. :-)

I don't, actually. Where did you get the idea that's what I was talking
about?

Interesting site. I looked at some of the discussion topics and this one
jumped out at me.

Are Jedi vegetarians?

One poster asks: "Are jedi vegetarians? This question has been troubling me
for a long time. it seems that jedi would try to cause as few deaths as
possible and there by not eat other living creatures."

The general consensus there seems to be that they must be, but I'm not so
sure. Certainly Jedi realize that life forms often have symbiotic
relationships and that carnivorous behavior is natural. There may be
vegetarian Jedi, but not as a result of the Jedi Code.

Whaddy'all think?

An interesting question. I agree with you. I think that the proportion of
Jedi vegetarians would be the same as throughout the rest of society i.e. I
don't think Jedi are vegetarians as a rule but I'm sure some are.

Of course they're not vegetarians but if the grieving relatives of the
animal they ate come complaining, the code requires them to give them a free
copy of the Jedi pamphlet that says "Death is a natural part of life.
Rejoice for those who have become one with my lunch. Mourn them do not, miss
them do not."

Ok. After giving it some thought, I could live with that. Even though my
first reflex was to be co,vinced all jedi are vegetarians.

Well some put "Jedi" on their census form under "Religion" - if that's what
you're referring to -\
