When, in making the DVDs, you get to the episode with guest star
Stephen Hawking, it would be lovely if you would invite him to comment
on the episode. Such a great guy and with a great sense of humor. I'd
really enjoy hearing what he has to say. Recently, viewing the
Treehouse of Horror episode where Homer goes into 3-D and gets sucked
into a black hole, I realized it would have been a lot cooler if you
could have gotten a physicist to comment on the episode with the normal
Simpsons commentators.
Actually, more guest start commentary (of whoever) would be neat.
Hearing exactly what they thought of their transformed Simpson cartoon
self would be interesting.
Thanks for listening to my $.02 cents!

I read somewhere it takes a little time for Hawking to compose sentences on his
voice synthesizer. On a cartoon, these "pauses" can be edited out[*], but the
DVD commentary sounds like its done in "real time," with the commentators
talking as they watch a tape of the show. If he had an off-the-cuff comment,
I'm not sure he'd get it in on time.
[*] Or maybe he can program it in advance with the lines he's going to say, and
fire them off on cue.

Actually, it would, but they have trouble scheduling all the show regulars to do
the commentary. Accomodating the guest stars' schedules would likely be even
harder.
