And the closest match I could come up with for OFF was Edgar Winters
and Frankenstein. So no curse.
I checked around, and she was born in East St. Louis, which is one of
Homers favorite places (the episode where Barney dried himself out).
She was in a movie called "Jury Duty", and Homer had jury duty once
("CHOWDAH").
She was in "Lolita", a Stanley Kubrick movie, and Stanley Kubrick is
constantly referenced on OFF.
But still, no curse.

The real story here is a celebrity that has never guest starred on The
Simpsons, and to our knowledge, never been represented, lampooned, or even
referenced.
However, did you see this (commentary on "The Dad Who Knew Too Little"):

Something at the end about "name dropping," and it mentions Shelly Winters.
This episode was just re-run the other day, but I don't remember these names
popping up. Of course, I was not paying too much attention.

She played Ma Barker.
Well, run for the hills, Ma Barker! Before I call the Feds!
